Dumb Question? How to adhere sizzix letters?

I am new to using my sizzix die cut doer. How do you adhere your letters or any other skinny die cuts for that matter?

I have runner tape but the tape is wider than the letters I want to use. I don't like glue sticks. I have a glue ballpoint pen but it seems so wet and doesn't stay in place right away for additional work to continue.

Is there another method I don't know about?

I think the Zig is the best ( the ball point you mentioned) but I know a lot of people use the Xyron machines.

I have two Xyron sticker makers (one is 1.5 inches and the other is 2.5 inches). These work great for making lots of little die cuts into stickers.

I picked my small one up at walmart for $8 and cartridges are only $5.

I also use the Xyron - very inexpensive.

Then I use a glue eraser to remove the glue that spiderwebs the xyron mades around the letters - the glue eraser just wipes them away without a trace of a mark.

I've never heard of a glue eraser. I will have to look at M's for one. Thanks

I have a Xyron cool laminator which came with a sticker maker that I got about 15 yrs ago on HSN (or whatever the channel was then). I have never opened the box. It is in storage.

Wonder if that would still do its job the way I would hope.

Might have to dig through the boxes to find it.

Glue erasor is wonderful! I use it so often when scrapping.

I got mine at my local scrapbook store - I like the rectangular natural-sponge color brownish one. It's very coarse and rubbery.

I got one that was shaped like a crayon and I didin't like it nearly as well. I'll check around and see if I can find a brand of the one I like the best.

Another vote here for using the X. To keep the glue from gumming up, I run a dry-embossing tool around the edges of the sticker before I rub it with my hand. It really helps.

Here is the glue eraser that is the best on the market (in my opinion and I've tried several):

Xyron Adhesive 2 Inch by 2 Inch Eraser

Its the natural-sponge colored brownish one that I love, I didn't realize it was made by Xyron so I guess that is what it was designed for. I didn't know that - I just knew it worked very well for getting rid of the Xyron spiderwebs between the letters.

The superstore used to carry it but can't seem to find it now??

The Xyron is brownish in color, could be the one Henri Jean is refering to.
It's called Xyron Adhesive Eraser Cube.
I got mine at Joann's.
I also have another one, same size only more lighter in color, don't recall the brand name tho. But they do work great.
I use them to remove rub.on bloopers.

I use a Zig Two-Way, but the one with the broad felt-tip, not the ball-point.

With really narrow letters I like to just use self-adhesive paper.

I use the Blue Scotch 3M repositional tape for tiny letters. Lay you letters out the way that you want them them place the repositional tape over the tope to pick them up. Then use you adhesive I love the Scotch 3m Quickdry adhesive for this. The adhesive is a 2 oz bottle but it has a very fine tip for applying tiny amount of glue. HTH

I recently purchased and LOVE "Best Glue Ever" by ScraPerfect. It has a really SMALL pointed tip that is amazing to use on teeny letters and embellies.

I also purchased their Embellie Jellie. What a fabulous idea-yes so simple. Wish I would have thought of it! I'd be able to retire lol

And no question is a dumb question! We have all been new to something about scrapbooking at some time or another. And like anything else, new things are always popping up and even the veteran scrappers are gonna have questions.

I use "sticky Dots" they are super tiny adhesive dots on a big sheet of paper, you lay your letter on it, pick it up and the back is covered in sticky

I'm another vote for the zig, xyron x, and I also use KI Gloo if it is a very small or intricate chipboard piece, to give it that extra staying power.

I also use the Xyron Create-A-Sticker. It's great for small die-cuts and ribbon also. I also have a bigger Xyron sticker maker for larger die-cuts or putting the letters side by side into the machine.

At my house it is refered to as "Magic Paper" b/c it magically makes everything sticky (including your arm or anything else you lay on top of it!lol)

If you have the Xyron 500 or 900 run the paper through there before you do the Sizzix cuts. That way you already have adhesive on the back of the cut pieces.

I'm another BIG fan of Best Glue Ever. It rarely if ever gets clogged (I've even left mine open over night!) and you can use it on the tiniest slivers of paper. I couldn't do without it.

I use Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect for just about everything now. It has a very narrow tip and you only need a tiny amount. I like the Zig glue also especially the ball point, but it will make SOME very dark cardstocks run color, and my experience is that it uses more than BGE - maybe because it is thinner/runnier? YMMV.

Also you can make your own glue dots of any custom size with Best Glue Ever.

By the way, Scraperfect also makes the Embellie Gellie which is wonderful for lifting and placing tiny embellishments and very small die cuts.

Wonder how we go about recommending this product (Best Glue Ever) to the store here. It would definitely be a good one for them to start carrying.
