Non-smearing pen for the back of photos?

Whenever I get my photos from Walgreens' 1-hour service, the scrapbooking pens I use smear, even when I let them dry for a long time. Any suggestions? It's only a problem with the photos from Walgreens. Ball-point pens don't smear, but I'd imagine they're not acid-free, so I don't want to use those.

Slick writers won't smear. They're great - use them on vellum, transparencies, glossy photo fronts even. I love these pens!

American Crafts Photo Writer / Utility Pen works great (just finished organizing & noting about 35 years of pics so I've tried quite a few pens!)

I noticed that Wallgreens has the same "spill proof" feature that Walmart has. This is the reason I don't get photos from either. Red eye and pet eye pens don't work on them, they just wipe off. I've even tried a permenant sharpie with the same result.

I use an extra fine point Sharpie on the back of my photos and have not had a problem.
