CS is a heavier weight than paper usually in solid colors but also comes in patterns.

some ppl use CS to build their LO on bcuz its more sturdy, some use it as photo mats, some use it in their die cutters to make embellishment.

Sometimes you its good to have CS and sometimes its good to have paper. LOs can get heavy with pp and embellishments.

I use CS for my BG most of the time. An exception is if a PP is just perfect for the LO. After choosing the color of CS, I then use pp to embelish, cut letters from, and as mats.
