Suggestions for heavy cardstock?

I have some cardstock that feels heavier and when I have tried to fold it to make cards it gets like a lumpy rumpled look to it at the fold. I am not sure how to solve this and really like the look of the cardstock.

Also another question... when I use a bone folder to crease cardstock, I sometimes get a shiny look where I use the bone folder. It's a stampin up one I usually use. Is it something I am doing wrong when I get that shiny look?

Are you scoring the paper first on some kind of scoreboard? If not, that should help with the lumpies.

I sometimes get the shiny look too, especially on darker paper, and I've noticed it more on textured paper. I don't know what to do about that.

absolutely try scoring the paper first,,,,,,,

and I generally don't use the bone folder to crease it due to that shiny edge,,,,

I generally just fold it after scoring,,,,,and run my thumb down it to sharpen the fold,,,,,

Thank You Ladies for the info. I do use my thumb instead of the bone folder in some cases to not have the shiny problem. And the score board thing, I do have one but sometimes forget to use it, I know one of those Duh moments I do appreciate the help tho

When you score your cardstock, put a piece of copy paper over it, no more shiny edges.

great ideas - I do not have a score board but I do have a bone folder by ek success and I will put more paper on top next time!!!!
