To Cricut or Sizzix?

When I first considered getting a die-cut machine I thought long and hard about what I would be using it for. I knew that I wanted to be able to cut lots of different fonts and that I didn't have a lot of room to store cartridges (this was 7-8 years ago). I ended up getting a Pazzles because at the time it was one of the few machines that could cut 12 x 12 and didn't require cartridges. In addition to cutting thousands of different fonts I can scan something and cut it. I've scanned from a plastic bag and die cuts I already had (changed the shape and size with the machine). I've cut a dingbat of an In-N-Out sign and recently cut an outline map of Lake Tahoe I found online. Haven't regretted my decision at all.

I am assuming you mean the electronic cutters. I have the Explore/E2 and the Sizzix Eclips version 1. If you have cartridges already I would go for the Explore or Cricut cutting system. The positive of the Explore is you can use your existing cartridges as well images you purchase (i.e. svgcuts.com) and you can use your TT Fonts. However, the Eclips is an excellent cutting machine. You can buy cartridges for it...really cheap now, shop in the store for images or design your own in Ecal. You will find more videos on YT for the Cricut and it a smaller learning curve than the Eclips but it is easy to operate. HTH

I would get the Silhouette Cameo or Portrait. I have a Cricut Expression with a whole bunch of cartridges that I never use since dh bought me a Cameo a few years ago. I will never go back. You can use any font on your pc, you can scan and cut, you can write or draw, and you don't have to pay for anything if you can make your own designs.

Since you already have somewhat of a Sizzix system, I would branch out and get the Cricut. I am going to save up for a new cricut machine. I own the Expression 2 and have had it for about 5 years now and have gotten so much use out of it, more than my Sizzix dies. Now, don't get me wrong Sizzix is good in it's own right and I love them. But, as you say, you are looking to branch out, Cricut will be a big help especially with Fonts. That was the whole reason I got mine because I was tired of spending money on Alpha stickers. Hi Everyone. I have been out of the game for a while with scrapbooking and the world has changed in the last 7 years - holy cow!

I am getting my creative mojo back and need some advice. Before I spend money, I needs to know what you think about the Cricut System vs Sizzix System. I have a Sizzix system with some die cuts, but I only buy die cuts when I need something if I can not find the die cuts online. I just want to know if I am spinning my wheels or if the Cricut trumps Sizzix?
