I've tried exacto-knifing and plain scissors and it just turns out jagged.

    Thanks!

Even with some of the circle cutters out there, you get little jagged edges you need to trim to make smoothe.

a couple tips for using both of these cutting tools

If you are using an exacto the blade needs to be sharp and you have to try and cut it with 2 cutting motions.

When cutting with scissors it is easiest if the scissor size is equal to the paper size, big circle > big scissors, small circle > small scissors etc. AND most importantly, when cutting with scissors turn the paper as you cut t not the scissors.

Most often I use the trace and cut method with my cutterbees. I have a circle cutter, but I travel a lot for work and end up scrapping in my hotel room a lot. I trace things like the top of the ice bucket or one of the plastic cups from the bathroom to make circles.

I don't know for sure that this would work, but it might be something to try. I'd get a compass - the ones that you put a pencil into and then tighten it. Instead of a pencil, put one of those flexible Acco-type cutters in it. The ones with the swivel blades. Use just like you would with a pencil, but it should cut the circle. (Then let me know if it works!!) Hmm, this could be my ticket out of here - I wonder why someone don't manufacture something simple like this.

I just bought a cutter bee scissors today and they worked great for the circles I cut out (today again) I was thinking of buying a circle cutter but right now it was just too expensive for me to think about it.

I have had pretty good... although let's face it not "perfect" luck with the Cutter Bee technique also... but you have to really study the thing to find the problems.

Could you trace something and cut it it out? I use Cutterbee scissors for cutting out circles. I also found a circle ruler on clearance a while back that you pick the size circle and use a pen to draw it. (You still have to cut it out though.)

So I need to cut a perfect 40mm circle... What's the cheapest way I can do that? I'd rather not buy a circle cutter but if I have to I will...

I've tried exacto-knifing and plain scissors and it just turns out jagged.
