What do YOU do first??

I usually match my photo to cardstock and/or patterened papers and then go from there. I try to have everything out I will need for the lo right away

I usually pick my paper, place my photos, do my journaling, titles, and then finish with embellishments to fill up any empty spots on the page.

I start from the "ground" up. I found its alot easier for me to chose the cardstock (and PP if I'm using it) and possible embellishments first. Once I have a "theme" going, I find a spot for my pictures, ribbon, eyelets and other fun stuff.

I got bored like that once and havnt looked at the LO's (for my Disney vacation book) for 2 years! I finally managed to pop out a LO, but its not the best.

I know what you mean about being a Mom...with me it is either shave both legs in one day...or shave one today and scrap a page....

I start with the photos and match the paper then start cropping and moving, get a title idea then tack them down then add the journaling - usually by computer now cause you can match the font to the style and fit your space EXACTLY and even your color. I found though I would take too long to complete a page this way, though and many weren't getting completed cause I'd just get board of them a few days later. So this past week and a half, I picked photos and paper one day for 10 different pages (3 2 page spreads and 4 singles). Then the next day I cropped and played and started to lay some down. Then the next 2 days I did the embellishments and then did the journaling. So at the end of the week, I have 6 pages 100% done and the other 4 about 80% done. I didn't think this jumping around would work, but I found I was only pulling out the papers one day and certain tools and embellishments another day and at the computer another day and I think It was more productive.
OK This is about 3 big run on sentences!!! But I find when you're Mom and you only get an hour or 2 a night, this was very productive for me.
Does this make sense to anyone else?
Does anyone else get bored 2 hours into a page and then you don't look at it for weeks?!!?

I try to position my pictures... with an idea of how i want the backgroud to be... I guess I kinda work on them both at the same time.

I do the background first.

I pick out my pictures first, then I find paper that would go great with it along with the embellishments and then go from there take ideas out of mags and such!!

I pick out paper, place pictures, place paper, embellish.

First I pick out the paper depending on what pics I am using, colors, designs etc. Then I pick out any cute embellishments that would do with the page. Next I crop my pictures and lay them out. After that I place the embellishments down where I think they're needed. Finally I stick everything down.

I position my pictures first usually......sometimes they change mid LO, but usually find the right place for the pictures then go from there.................

Another question for your layouts....do you position your pictures first?? Do you design your background first?? Just curious...I know there is no right or wrong....
