RE: Violets Grandchild: I just purchased a used machine. It appears that the metal plate that presses down on the die is loose. Does anyone know how to get the upper portion apart so I can re-attach that plate.

I have the same problem with one I just bought used, but couldn't figure out a way in. Unscrewing that section at the bottom still wouldn't give easy access to the smaller screws that hold the plate in. I tried a very heavy duty adhesive that works on plastic and metal. It seems to work. Well, it did loosen, but I was trying to flatten a bottle cap with it, which is definitely not an intended use. I'll be trying again and seeing if it holds up to regular use. I may need to hold it up in some way, like with large zip ties.
