At first I suspected it was the glue, as sfmadrigal mentioned. But the newest pages to have this problem have nothing in them and basically have not been touched.
If these protectors are so sensitive and cannot withstand being in my house without wrinkling, then I don't want them!
But they are not "wrinkled" like they got folded or bent, they are warped and out of shape. And these protectors come with a backing sheet inside.

My grade-school aged daughters have been scrapbooking longer than I have.
Recently we've had a problem with our page protectors "wrinkling."
It's a little hard to explain... but I would imagine if you took a hair dryer and held it to a page, it would make the page look like this. Some pages are completely wrinkled and others have only spots.
The latest problem is very baffling. I added brand new pages with protectors to my daughter's book and the next day the protectors were wrinkled. Nothing has even been put in those pages yet!
I contacted the manufacturer, who was very gracious in replacing the pages. But that still leaves the problem.
This has happened with 3 different scrapbooks of ours (2 different manufacturers). We don't store them in a place that would cause any damage.
Anyone else experience such a thing or have any idea what causes it?
P.S. Great site! I can see myself spending A LOT of time here!!
