Cutting Grungeboard with Cricut?

I just bought the deep cut housing blade for my cricut. I am trying to cut cardboard that is about as thick as 3 pieces of cardstock. It is not cutting all the way through. I have it on speed #3, pressure #5 and the deep cut blade on #6. Also, the second time I tried to cut using it, the carriage that holds the blade made a really loud grinding sound and sort of "jumped". Is this normal or should I contact Cricut?
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

exactly what I was going to post. Actually, I used my oldest mat and wide painter's tape to hold the chipboard in place. I used a slow speed and the max pressure setting. I was cutting chipboard off the back of a paper stack. I used a slightly faster speed on the grungeboard.

I think the biggest thing is mess with the settings depending on what thickness the chipboard is and how detailed the cut. Detailed cuts don't work to well with the thicker stuff.

I would try this for an experiment if I could get it to stick to the mat...I would think that for something like this you'd need a new mat. I use a new mat every time I start a round of chipboard word books.

Yes Ria you can do just 4 with the multi cut feature, but then when it stops just reload and repeat last for 5 and above cuts. You probably will find it cuts with just the 4. To keep the grungeboard from moving you can adhere the sides to the mat with painters tape.

Gina, how are you getting to 5 on multicut? I cut everything through Design Studio and I only have up to 4x. I would try this for an experiment if I could get it to stick to the mat...I would think that for something like this you'd need a new mat. Grungeboard and the Cricut - settings
deep cut housing
Blade: 6
Speed: 3
Pressure: 4
Multi Cut: 4 or 5

And this with the regular blade

Cricut Settings
Blade: 6
Pressure: max
Speed: max
Multi Cut: 5

Has anyone ever cut grungeboard with the cricut? Can you cut it with the regular blade? Do you have to use a deep housing blade?

If you can cut with the regular blade, how do you do this??

Appreciate any help I can get on this!!!
