Stickles-not impressed

No, Stickles aren't "dimensional" the way puffy paint or whatever is, but I love the effect they give. They just HIGHLIGHT with a little glitter without distracting the eye from the rest of the LO.

I agree with you I thought it was just me and I still use them but like you, a dot here and there, wellll I am always trying new things it does not have to be a very well known brand If I like it I will try it so i found 'SPARKLY GLITTER GLUE' and I just fell in love with it and it's 1 dll. cheaper than stickles and bigger bottle too I love that!

Maybe you could try it to cover chipboard letters. I spread it on with my finger when I do that so it just adds a glittery effect to them. I also like to dot it as accents.

Depends what "flavor" you have. Distress is different than normal. I have 3 that look white in the bottle, too, and they're all completely different "live".

Distress Stickles are meant to be used like paint, not like regular Stickles. You glob a little bit out then use a small paint brush, or your finger, to spread them around.

I love stickles. I prefer the thin tip bottles. The distress colors are awesome, but I wish they were in the smaller tip nozzle too. I move the distress around with a tooth pick sometimes because it does tend to glob on me with the bigger tip.

But I think its like cake decorating... I've learned how much pressure to use not to get an air bubble, and I start the flow to the tip before I touch the paper so I don't get that first glump of air, if that makes sense...


I'm loving yellow, pink, green, black diamond, and fired brick right now...

Also, it has a long open time, so if you don't like something, gently wipe with a tissue or qtip, and start over... easy peesy

You can use a thicker bead if you want more dimension... I build it up a layer at a time, sometimes letting it dry between layers.

I've also been experimenting with mixing colors in one area...

endless possibilities...

Wowza, I love Stickles! BUT they are not all created equally. As in, there are just some colors that have that oh-so-DAZZLING quality! And dimension! And some have a more muted effect. It depends on what colors you check out. I definitely have a few least fave colors picked out that just don't do it for me. But regardless, you are certainly allowed to dislike/like whatever you wish!

I have one bottle. Because so many people here seem to love it.

My experience is that it's difficult to get it to flow evenly (it either globs or doesn't come out at all).
I used it to outline some diecut letters on a page. The page warped underneath!

Not my favorite product.

You might also want to try going over the stickles with something like Glossy Accents. I did that a couple of times and it makes for nice dimension and a pretty bubble-look at the same time.

They are not as cool as I THOUGHT they would be. I was obsessed with getting every color, which is silly cause I had not even used them, yet. Now that I have used them on ONE project....well...ehhh, they are "ok". I will continue to use them but I prefer the old glitter and glue method.

So....you are not alone.

Stickles sound pretty cool, I've never used them. It's not by choice. When my wonderful Mom in law passed away, I was given all her craft things. There was so much scribbles fabric writers in the things, thought I would use them before I buy other stuff. I was surprised because they worked so well.

Well, sounds like most of you love Stickles.Stephanie's work is beautiful--especially the Butterfly!
I really like the look of the Glitter Fabric writer that Debby used. Debbie, your work is also beautiful and I think I will try the Fabric writer!

Stickles are great.. they dry in the thickness you put them on in, so if you put them on flat, they will dry flat.. if you put them on thick, they dry thick. The thicker you put them on, the longer it takes them to dry. Stickles ARE great though!

I love Stickles and grab mine all the time for just a little bit of zaz. I don't want dimension so they work great for me.

maybe you just got a bum bottle? I LOVE all my stickles and in my bottles, you can barely see the glue part. It's all glitter! I'm not sure what's up... maybe you should try shaking the bottle up! Hope this helps...

If you want more dimension, try fabric paint aka puffy paint. It's pretty inexpensive as well and lots of colours.

Loving stickles and the ease of use. It is so much better than me having to use glue and glitter. (Although I will still occasionally do that too). I love that I can add just a little extra oomph to my pages and not to have glitter on my clothes, hands, and face...not to mention not having to clean the huge mess afterward.

That is the beauty of this hobby and the large amount of product available. I know that I don't have to like all new things. If you've found something that you like more then I say good for you I personally don't like the smooch paints, and I'm ok with not buying it just b/c it's new or the hot topic with my fellow scrappers.

hmm, I think that stickles has a little bit of dimension to them, but not too much which is perfect, IMO, for layouts and cards. but if you are looking for lots of dimension then maybe that fabric glitter is for you. it sounds neat and the layouts shared look really cool, I may have to try that!!

OMG...how can anyone not love stickles! LOL They are sooo much fun, and I use them all the time! I want them to dry flat, as usually I am just covering something like a paper cut-out or edging. I have all the bottles, except the distress ones, I didn't care for those and I sold the ones I had.

I stickled the butterfly on here with 2 different colors.

For the stuff I use stickles for, its better that they dry flat and the glitter in them is amazing! The glitz stickles have the most glitter.

I have never used stickles before. I use scribbles fabric writer and glitter writer for fabric. Here are a couple examples..

They both stand out and are not flat. I love this stuff. It works well on paper. Hope this helps.

Is is just me? I like the IDEA of stickles. However, it dries FLAT and looks ugly! I just don't see using it other than to do small dots here and there. I think there is not enough glitter or the glue medium is too thin. Any thoughts out there?
