Hi everyone, just waiting for a baby to zonk back out.

I think I'll step outside to get my camera. Need to take pix of how I use Xyron cartridges without the machines.

I use credit cards for as much as possible, come in, and hand over the receipts. For the few things that I end up writing checks for, he'll dig the check copies out of my purse. (We have the kind of checkbook that makes an automatic carbonless carbon copy.) My only problem is when I spend cash, because I tend to lose track of what is what on the receipts, but even then I try to come in and just hand over receipts. (I often don't even carry cash for this very reason.)

It helps that he is having massive headaches, dizziness, constant pain in his throat... etc...

Unfortunately, the dr said, "Flu" and gave him nothing. Poor guy... I'm in no condition to 'take care of him'since I'm barely better than him. But the soup I made helped. I hope....

My friends at my former dept told me that a customer needed some data.. and as usual, people went to the test development guys .. and my friend said: test dev do new projects, sustaining work should be done in the product dept. Oh did I tell you, that my boss did NOT get a replacement for me because he didn't get a headcount? So my boss asked my friend to send the hardware to Asia, and have his guy over there test 20 units and then send everything back here. Yeah, right. They are in production, what priority would they put this task? Anyway, it was a 30 min job. My friend then said, ok, give me the parts. AND then my boss asked: where are the parts. Like I said, I asked him 4 weeks before I leave if he wants me to hand over everything.. he wasn't interested. I left all the doc and parts and labeled them. He didn't even look. His Asian staff emailed me for help. I handed stuff over to him instead.

I know it wasn't my boss' fault entirely to make me transfer.. but I'm not sure why he was sooooo keen to let me go, understanding he will NEVER get a replacement for me (headcounts lost will not be replaced.. tough times), and he has no one under his team doing what I was doing. He's hoping my products will go away.. but hello, even if they do, you'll still have the support the customers for at least 6 months. It's company policy.

So what was he thinking???

I am so impressd with Vivian too...

I lived in a British colony/Commonwealth country so English history was a must-study subject in high school...

And QEII was still our queen... and she's on our coins...

For a while I was interested in stamp collecting. I have many stamps of Queens and Kings.

Many of our streets and buildings are named after Kings and Queens, honourable ones or infamous ones. It's only in HK where you can find a Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Oi Kwan Road.

BTW, Ria, I tried the Premium Roasted Coffee at our lcoal McD today, and it was goooood. No wonder Starbucks is laying off workers, losing share price and marketing $1 coffee at 'selected locations'.

I'm going to go make sure I have a good supply of bottles for the night. I'm also trying to catch up on comments for a challenge. I don't think I'll finish this one challenge tonigoht...it seems everyone waited until the 2nd month of a two-month challenge before posting anything. After it was so slow in the first month, I figured it wouldn't be tough at all to keep caught up.

Um... maybe it is just the Mickey D's here in flag, but the coffee I tried was not so good... I would rather have my Starbucks...bummer they are laying off employees though. That stinks.

Isn't it, though? I don't know if yours has McCafe, but ours is running free samples of McCafe coffees every Monday before 2pm. You can get either a small mocha, cappuccino (regular, vanilla, or caramel), or latte (regular, vanilla, or caramel). I love them all.

I don't and can't drink coffee, but I like Cappuccinos (French Vanilla), but I really prefer to drink hot tea.

It seemed more like it was watery.

maybe a bad batch? From experience I will say the one in this town is worse than the one about an hour away. The one an hour away has yummo fries. The one here seems like they are mushy even when they are fresh. Customer service here stinks too... might just be my local one is stinky.

People were making my manager mad tonight. One woman came through drive through, had ordered several drinks. Woman was on her phone, as usual. Manager asked her if she'd like a drink tray. Woman holds up one hand as if to say, "WAIT." So manager started to hand her the drinks and THEN woman starts MiMi ng a drink tray. Manager told me after the woman left that she'd REALLY wanted to say something to her, but being in management, she couldn't.

People need to get off their phones when they come through drive-through (or inside). I think it is SO rude to be ignoring the service you came into a restaurant to receive because you can't get that phone away from your ear and stop your jaws from flapping. We're not mind readers.

If someone calls while I'm in a drive through I'll tell them where I am and I'll call back. I make sure to never be on my cell phone when I am checking out at any store, or in a drive through, or anywhere else where I'm getting customer service.

I'm the same way. I'll either put somebody on hold, or call them back. I think people need to give their full attention to the people helping them. I mean, come on, do they REALLY want to tick off people handling their FOOD??? (OR their money...it'd be so easy to "miscount.")

I know right. There was an incident at our local MD where 2 male employees were doing some highly inappropriate stuff to the burgers. Thankfully they were fired but I always check my food when we order from there.

I totally agree... some people are obnoxious with phones. I have a buddy that is an officer and he pulled a woman over. When he came up to the window she was on her cell and told him to wait until she finished her conversation. He did. He had planned to giver her a warning. She got the harshest ticket he could give her instead. Who the tells a police officer to wait because they are on the phone when the officer pulls them over?

Our store has primarily young crewmembers. There's only a handful of us actual adults (in addition to the manager, two assistant managers, and I think four or five swing managers) who take our jobs seriously. The rest are kids working "after school." One customer complained that she'd come in and almost every person was on their cell phone. (I wasn't, and neither was the manager. I wear mine, but I have it on vibrate and the two reasons are Jordan Lee and Elizabeth Louise. I also use it as a timer for my breaks.) Needless to say, store manager got wind of it and got MAD. She set down a policy that we aren't even allowed to WEAR our phones. (I still do, but my shirt is big enough to cover it, and I seldom work with the store manager anymore, anyway.) My phone has an MP3 player on it, and at the strike of 11, I start playing music and it helps me get my closing stuff done just a little faster.

We were in our MD when Micayla was somewhere around 18 months and a young crew member was on his cell phone (We assume he was on his break), he was standing in the front of the counter and talking loud and using the "F" word a lot. We were upset about it. Brian and I would have been mad but probably wouldn't have done anything about it if it was just us 2 but with Micayla with us we were upset by this employee using words like that in front of her. We called the head office and the guy got fired. We usually don't do that but the fact that he kept saying it, wearing his name tag , and not caring that there were customers (we were the only ones) there really made us mad.

I asked some questions but she's insistent on using that post bound book for 300 pages. So I left her threads. I don't understand people getting worked up over what someone else is doing. Her headache.

I didn't even mention that I had to take apart an old beautiful album. I ended up taking the front cover and sliding it into the front of the notebook/album I replaced it with. I felt she wasn't gonna listen to that suggestion so I didn't bother.

Baby getting fussy, must be bed time. Talk to you all tomorrow sometime.

Rudeness is on the increase with cell phones right at the top. Drink trays should be given automatically if there's more than two drinks and only one person in the car. But that was still uncalled for.
