Hi there, I am a CM consultant looking for buddies. I thought we could start a thread to help each other with tips on recruiting, booking shows, and general ideas.

I am a huge CM fan. I crop every week at my CMC's house. They are coming out with some great new products. My CMC is going to Scotsdale Arizona next week on a trip that she won for be a CMC. Good luck with your new business.

It's nice to know that there are fans of CM! lol!! I've found that I can get a lot of people excited about scrapping...but not many people actually continue scrapping after the initial excitement. lol!

I love CM products as well as my consultant. CM tools rock!

I am a huge CM fan! Love the tools! I have a hard time finding a CMC in my area that I dont have to drive an hour to get to. My sister got me hooked when she was a CMC but since she no longer does it I havent found one I like.

Hi, This is my first time at this site. I am a CMC as well. I would love to swap ideas!!!

This is so awesome. This site is a great place to come and chat and exchange ideas. I am actually having a crop tonight at my house. I don't have too many people scheduled for tonight. Hopefully, I will start getting more and more customers. I truly believe in this product but I am not a salesperson by nature so it is kind of hard for me to book up some home shows/classes. I have my first baby shower CM style on Sunday. I will keep you posted on how it goes. Wish me luck.

Anna, I know what you mean about filling up your memory keepers card. I just filled my first one of the year and I actually have all of the memory keeper gifts, so my CMC let me have the new gift for coordinators. I think it was called memories and moments? It is an awesome paper pack with titles.

That was a great idea from you CMC. The new paper pack is awesome. I didn't think it could get much better than the pens. They were nice too.

MeLissa3, where is SC are you at? We just got back from Hilton Head last Sunday. That is my favorite place to visit. I just love it there. I would love to pick up and move there. It is beautiful. Although, the weather was cold and rainy while we were there. It is still nice just to get out of the house and go somewhere else for a while.

I too am a big CM supporter although I like to add other things to my LO. I have about every CM tool available. I find that they are so easy to use. Love the new 12x12 paper trimmer. I will be visiting this thread often to keep up on what everyone is doing.

I also add other things to my LOs, even though I am a CMC. I do however, tend to follow their style. My books are mostly simple LOs with a few doo-dads or fancy pages here and there.

Wait until you see the new 12" decorative trimmer!! I just got mine today. It is so neat. It is much easier to use than the straight edge that goes with the cutting system. I will have lots more ribbons now that they are so simple.

That's not too far from my old stomping grounds. My inlaws still live in St. Pete. We are down at least three times a year.

I had a crop last night. Not too successful. I only had 2 people show up. I just grabbed my stuff and cropped with them. I need to figure out a way to get more customers.

I too am a consultant and would love to swap ideas. I had a crop at my house Friday night. Had three people there...a mom and her two daughters. Mom is helping her older daughter with an album of her life for her graduation present. They completed 14 pages in 3.5 hours...did a great job. Her other daughter who is 12, did 10 pages all on her own. And she completed her first album. She did a great job and I helped her put the album together. She was very proud. She will now be starting her 2nd album. Not bad for a 12 year old and it was the 3rd time she scrapped.

I live in a little bitty town of about 150 people called Norris Illinois. Not even sure its on the map! But the closest town to me is Canton. Its about 15,000.

It is so neat that everyone is so far away. I can tell people that I know scrappers from all over the country. My dh and I have often talked about how we would like to live in a small town. It seems so quaint.

I didn't have much success just by word of mouth referrals because most of my customers are loner scrappers. I started making my own fliers and posting on university boards and leaving a stack of fliers near the free newspaper racks. ...while my customer base hasn't grown exponentially, i have gained 2 or 3 new customers so to me, it makes it owrth while.

My CMC has been doing CM for about 5 or 6 years, I think and she has built a large client base. She holds crops on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings every week and then she adds Fridays when she can. Plus throughout the year she holds special events; Croptoberfest and National Scrapbook Day as well as several weekend crops.

She averages probably 4 or 5 people at each crop night but I have been there when she is at her capacity of 10. She charges $2 per hour for the crop and you have use of all of her CM tools, plus she has sizzix with just about every font including the new sizzlets plus a ton of dies, and a load of punches.

On the new 12" trimmer, I LOVE IT. I think it works great. I already told her to order me the new decorative 12" trimmer. She has it and I have used it and it is great too.

It is really nice to talk to other CM people. Sometimes CM scrappers are put down as "beginners" which real burns me!! But like I said it is nice to talk to other CM people!!!

I love Creative Memories product. I have a friend that is a consultant. I opened a LSS a few months ago. I have had several people come in looking and talk about CM they have used. I ask if they have a consultant, if they don't I tell them I know one and can give them her name. She has sold to a few new customers that way. Just thought I would mention it because you consultants might want to make sure your LSS knows that you sell CM. I have been in a store near me and they have given out a CM consultants name also. So it does happen in nice stores. My bottom line is that I want my customers to be happy and to know that I will do whatever I can to help them out.

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I have been under the weather. I am starting to feel a bit better now.

What a great idea to go to my LSS. I just assumed they wouldnt want to have anything to do with CM since it would technically be their competition. I think I will stop by this weekend and talk to them.

I was thinking about investing in a Sizzix after I get a few more clients for my crops. I don't have a lot of experience with them. Is the Jr. size an OK one?

Well, I just bid on a regular size Sizzix machine that comes with an adapter, one set of alphabet dies and a few other dies. I will just have to wait now to see if I won. I will be waiting with baited breath.

I know that my CMC said for the first year or two she reivested all of her profit back into her CM business. So save your receipts for anything that you buy to add to your business because it will be tax deductible as a business expense.

That's exactly what I have been doing. I also do home day care so I have to save all of the receipts for that as well. I used to throw away everything. Not anymore.

The auction ends tomorrow. My beginning price has already been outbid. Now I just have to decide how high to go.

I actually got started scrapbooking with CM. I love the oval and circle cutters
and punches.
I posted a page in the Easter Contest galley using pp from CC. I have a two page
spread using stickers and pp from them, too. Since there are so many CM scrappers on this board, I'll post a two page layout that I made using their pp
and stickers. It is also an easter layout, but I don't know if I can post more than
one layout in the contest. I'll find some place for it, though.

What exactly is a CMC? I'm very new to scrapbooking so I don't have all the terms down yet... Is it kind of like selling AVON?

CM is Creative Memories. CMC is Creative Memories Consultant. It is a direct sell company. You are right in that it is similar to Avon. They make and sell their own line of scrapook albums, stickers, adhesives, punches, paper cutters and whatnot. I know I am biased because I sell it, however, I honestly believe they have the best products on the market. Their cutting system for cutting ovals, circles and lots of other shapes are the best. I have spent so much wasted money on other cutting tools before I finally bought the CM system. If you are just getting started, that is a must buy. Let us know if you have any other questions. yea it is they sell scrapbook stuff and sometimes have party. i would say it is kind of like that. BR602

you can go to there site and type what state and it will show you if there any around your area

I have all of their custom cutting sytem shapes, all of the punches, and the new 12 inch cutter. I LOVE them all. I earned some of the tools from having a home class. Plus the Memory Keeper Club used to have an option instead of one of the products that they offer for the MKC you could get $25 in credit.

In my layouts in the gallery there are examples of the different shapes in the cutting system as well as some of the punches.

Go to their website and click on locate a consultant. I really recommend having a party. You earn free products based on show sales plus they have a really cool coordinator's gift. This month is a paper pack.

I recommend having a class as well. That is how I really got started with the CM items. I had been scrapping for several years prior to this but enjoy it much more now that I have the tools that makes it easier to do a LO. The free products are great as well. Also if you find a consultant who does crops, that is that much better. CM is a great way for someone to start scrapping.

It is not only a great way to start cropping, but their simple style that focus on the pictures in the layout more than the embellishments is a really nice style that many people prefer to stick with. I am not saying that I never use non-CM stuff but I tend to stick to their simpler style even after 3+ years of scrapbooking.

I like the simple things too. Like you, I often add other items to my LOs (even though I am a CMC). I would much rather sit down and do 10 pages in an hour than not get close to finishing one.

I Love CM. My best-friend in CA is a consultant and got me addicted. Now I live in ID and scrap alone. I have met a CMC but there is a big age difference and would like to find people closer to my age. The cutting system is fantastic!!!!!!! Everything is so easy. Now I am also investing in Sizzix. This is my newest addiction. Gotta love it!!!!

Blondee, which Sizzix do you have? I am looking into in myself right now. Which one do you think is the best? Also, what is the going price for the big one and the little one?

Hiya! Im a new consultant. Im having my first event! NSD on may 7th. As a customer this was always my favorite event, so why not? What state do you live in? how long have you been a consultant? are you doing a NSD event?

Hi Kat, I am a fairly new consultant. I started in late Jan. I live in Georgia. I have never been to a NSD event so this will be my first one. What hours are you doing yours? So far, I have it planned for 10-4 with lunch. I was thinking maybe I need to make it longer. Have you ordered the goodies for NSD? There are some really cool little gifts.

I just had to share. I am so excited!!! I finally got my avatar to work. It has taken me awhile, but I did it, I did it!! (I sound like Dora the Explorer)

I am signed up to go to my CMC's NSD event on April 30th. She told me that there were lots of great goodies. I couldn't wait so I looked on ebay because someone is always selling them on there and they look so cool, I can't wait to get them.

You know, I can't figure that out. How are people selling things on Ebay? Unless you are a consultant, you can't get the stuff yet. If you are a consultant, you aren't allowed to sell on Ebay. I've noticed that most of that stuff goes for more than what you would actually pay for it if you bought it from a consultant.

I have noticed that the things sell for more than I pay from my CMC. I go on to check out what is available or coming available and to see is there any current crop talks that I am missing. I have never bought anything (CM) from ebay for the reason that I can get it cheaper and faster from my CMC. As for the NSD goodies they are selling for $5++, I am going to an all day crop that includes lunch for $25 and I am going to get all of that stuff for free plus more! I guess people who don't have a CMC in their area would buy things above price?

I have purchased a few CM things from Ebay but it had better be cheap. By the time you add S & H to the item, a lot of times they do go for more than what you can get for from a Consultant. Plus you miss out on the MKC points. I have wondered how these people get these items!?!

THey all claim that they are not CMC's but how else would they get these items?
