Flock: Stampendous Fun Flock vs. Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock

I love the look of flock on scrapbook pages and so I was thinking of getting some. It seems that the two most common brands I see out there are Stampendous Fun Flock (not available at sb.com )vs. Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock (available here). It seems that the Doodlebug flock is quite a bit more expensive per gram than the Stampendous. Does anyone know if the Doodlebug flock is worth the extra price?

I can tell you that the Stampendous flock that I bought didn't work at all. It stunk. I will try the Doodlebug one next time I guess. I hope you have better luck than I did.

i haven't used the stampendous one. But have had lots of fun with the Doodlebug .

I'm guessing that the glue you used wasn't adequate. When you use flocking, it really isn't the flock as much as the glue that is important. I use Stampendous flocking all the time and have perfect results.

I do know that when I bought my flower soft they told me that the glue was the key to making it work well so that totally makes sense w/the flocking. What glue do you use for yours? I forget what I used cuz I have so many types LOL.

Yep, that't totally true! The glue is what makes it stick to the project, the flock is just there to stick to it
I use Glossy Accents, 450 Quick Dry, or Tacky Glue gel.

I did use glossy accents, and still didn't like it. I also tried Tacky Glue and Diamond Glaze .

I'll check out your tutorial.

I have never used flock, but I use Doodlebug stuff all the time and it's all been good quality. I also like that all of their stuff comes in the same colors so it's easy to coordinate.

Did you use a good amount of glue and then press the flocking into the glue before it dried? What exactly happened when you tried to use it?

I guess that I just wasn't satisfied with the coverage. I went to your blog and saw your little chicken which was adorable! I noticed you used the white flock. That is what I bought, and for some reason I thought I would get a thicker coat. Maybe I was just expecting too much. I got the same results you did but thought it wasn't thick enough. I guess I'm picky! LOL
