Just wondering if any of you know if MW plans on introducing more adhesives, writing tools or lines - like Dejavu (sp?).

Wow! Those Chatterbox kits sold out fast. I was thinking that I would get some. Too late. Do any of you know when they will have the info up about when the new items will be coming in or if they already have it where? I knew where it was on the old site.

if you go to the memory works site and log in, go to my account in the very top left hand corner. they have not finished the permanent product availability list, but there is a pdf file you can download. it does not work for me. (my dumb computer) but the MiMi album and doodle templates have not came in yet. i am waiting on them myself and i do remember the albums were due to be in around 10/30. there are a handful of new items that have not became available yet.

anyone still not able to get onto their personal site? kevin sent me a tip today the websites begin with http: and not www. there is no www. in the web address. so, mine has been up and running this whole week! i knew i was doing something wrong.

Holy Moly, I have just finished reading this entire thread. I have been considering consulting but I just couldn't find the "right" company. None of the ones I check into seemed right to me. I didn't like that they only sold one line of products or didn't sell tools, etc...I have been trying to research companies for the last few months now. I think I caught MW while the site was down. Well I was looking through my November issue of CK and noticed the ad, and thought I would give that site another try....OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have found the company. I absoulutely love that there are many companies to chose from. These are all products that I love. I tried to go to the online registration, but after I click "I agree" the next page will not load. It says "page can not be displayed" SO if any of you can help I would be completely greatful. TIA

Well I guess I have already messed up, and don't know how to fix it. While I was filling out the registration I misspelled my username. LOL. I didn't even realize what I had done till I went back later to login. UGH. .I'm thinking I need to go to bed...LOL

Anyone have any ideas how I can help the hostess...since she won't get credit for cash and carry's??? How can I offset this, so that she gets something for it?

That is a really good question, but a tough one. I was wondering if you could do something like order the items for your inventory under your name. Then have the party and essentially restock items out of your pocket with her party order. Even if you did not get the same items. Just the same dollar amount. So if someone purchases 10 dollars worth of cash and carry from you. You would order another 10 dollars worth from the party. I am not sure if you are allowed to do that or not. I would not do this for every party, but it might work for now. I can see why you would want to have inventory, but just remember that mw does not reccomend it. They will not allow you to return items because they did not sell and you need to be extra careful to make sure that you get your shipping and tax money back.

Oh, and I would definitely only order items that you will use for yourself. You could even get cash and carry items that you want for demo purposes that you may or may not use right away. If they sell, they you order more for yourself. If they don't sell, you have them to use.

Yeah, I asked about that on the MW boards...if it was ok, to order more to make up for the supply that I sold, and add it on to her party. Everyone said it was fine

Now, should I charge for the party? I bought a class kit. Or should I charge the hostess for them? I am sorry for asking so many questions.

I would suggest discussing the class kit with the hostess. She could always make a note on the invitation that there will be a make-n-take at the party for x amount of dollars. Depending on what the hostess wants, you could always demo how you use the kit to make the final product and then if anyone there wants the kit they could purchase it from you. It just really depends more on what your hostess wants out of her party.

I am hoping my first order with my adhesive and class kits arrives today! I am so excited! My father-in-law was visiting from San Diego this week, so I didn't heve access to my scrap/spare room all week. I can't wait to go upstairs with my new stuff and get busy.

I agree with this. I would leave it up to the hostess. It would also depend on who she is inviting. If she plans to invite a lot of people that have never scrapbooked before, I would try to do a make and take that gave them a completed project that was simple. For example, a mini album by Chatterbox or the matchbox kits by BG. My first intro to scrapbooking was with a CM party. I hated that they had us make one page. We paid 10 dollars to go. We made a single page that would only work with a cm album. You basicly have to purchase an album and it has to be one of thiers because it does not work with other albums. This really did seemed rude to me. Personally, I thought it would be rude to invite people to this.

However, I would leave this up to the hostess and what she was comfortable with. I know if I was hostessing I would want people to feel that they did not just spend money for something that was wasted or requires a lot more purchasing to complete.

I also like the idea of an optinal make and take. In other words you offer some make and takes and they have to pay a set amount to do it. That way they can come and not pay if they don't want to. This might get more people to come and even if they don't purchase that day, they get your info and might contact you later.

Oh, my worst ever party was a Close To My Heart party that I was invited to. We had to pay 10 dollars to go. She did not have us make ANYTHING!!! I paid all that just to listen to her sales pitch. I know the hostesses was extremely embarrassed. It was very akward for everyone. I have since come to know other CTMH demos and they are great, but this demo was a horrid representative of her company.

I had 3 free make and takes. A library pocket & tag (sold a ton of Coluzzle after that demo), a 6x6 page with acrylic paint & eyelets set with the crop-a-dile (sold tons of paint & foam stamps), & then a card with the brand new AL stamps & a HS floral. Everyone had fun (including me!).
I had 35-40 ladies show up which was perfect since I can only fit 8 comfortably in my scraproom. Hmm...anything else?

Jenny, where did you hold it? Who did you invite (friends, previous customers, or did you advertise?)

Just curious about details. I would like to do some stuff after the holidays.
