I like the idea of doing a card. You could do a happy thanksgiving card or an invitation style card for turkey day. I did tags for my make and take, but that may not fill up an hour since they are very easy to do.

No, I haven't. I think I'm going to get the website and business cards first. And that may take awhile since we have absolutly no spare money right now. I just started watching a baby for some extra money. I'm hoping we get caught up soon on some bills. Then, I'm going to put my cards/flyers out at stores around here. I also contacted a girl from meetup to see if she was interested in cohosting a crop (she does CM).

I think that a great idea, I have a friend with SU! and we are doing the same thing for the one next month. Really has taken a lot of the stress off.

Checked my email and CM girl responded. She does a crop once a month, but its during the day and I wouldn't be able to attend. So I'm seeing if she would be willing to do one in the evening with me.

I really have no idea how advanced they are. We're just a bunch of moms getting together for craft night. One mom is teaching how to make bows and another mom is teaching us beading.

I'd say pick a line of paper that you want to display/use for the cards. Get a pack of matching cardstock. Create a simple card using layering .. maybe add buttons, brads or some other simple embellie that you can purchase a pack or two. You could possible have several card designs. Have a card already made up as example of each design. And then have all the required pieces precut in a ziplock baggie. That way the mom can choice which card to make and have fun putting it togethor. Simple but gives them the chance to play as well! Maybe have several ink pads available for them to use if they would like to ink/distress their cards a little. Just some suggestions!

That's exactly what I did with my tags. It went over very well. The hardest part was picking out paper.
FYI Pebbles has kits that comes with pp, ribbon, sticker monograms, and a few other stickers. All you have to get is cs.

Thanks! I will make sure i keep everyone posted! We are not sure how far long yet, I have an appointment on 11/7. Here's a little background as to why - i found out a couple of years ago that i have PCOS (wich means my eggs dont release and then they turn into cyst inside my ovaries) The last know peroid is Aug. I took a home test last week at work and it was negtive. But then I took one when i got up this morning and it was positive. Then i thought it would be best to have blood testing done. Of course it was positive also. We had been trying for a long time, and kinda just gave up and let god make the descion of when and if. He always knows the best time and always has his reasons.

My sil has PCOS too and has her miracle boy who is almost 14 mo now (after 3 years of trying).

So I have an idea for a class and I am curious what you all think.
My mom goes to a class put on by a stampin up demo once a month. They pay 15 dollars and make like 5 cards. Then they also have a group committed to spending a certain amount per month to meet the minimum party requirements. They trade off being the hostess who gets credit for the party. I have been wanting to do something similar with mw. I was thinking we could just do lo's instead of cards. Some of my mom's friends might be willing to do it and some of my sister's friends too. I would try to do it when I come down to visit. Just plan that into my visits.

So for this party I thought I could use one pp kit. For example the Fancy Pants True kit. That comes with like 5 pieces of paper for 5.50. Then I would use embellies that would cost me less than 9 dollars per person. Basicly they would be paying for the supplies only for the class. I would just make my % off the supplies and then they would purchase a certain amount per person. I think I could come up with 3 layouts with one of those kits and some embellies + CS. Do you think people would pay 15 for 3 layouts? Do you think think they would be ok with 3 similar layouts. Like if I used the Scenic Route Halloween paper they would get 3 halloween layouts. I could totally use 3 Halloween layouts, but I don't know if everyone else would.

Thoughts on this?

I was also thinking of trying to get fellow mw consultants to work on kits together. Like if we all pick a certain group of products and see what everyone makes with those products that add up to less than 15. Then we could even just print out sheets that show those ideas for everyone to see.

I think that's a good idea. I would pay 15 for 3 LOs. I've taken classes at my LSS where you pay 20 for a 2 page LO and that's it. Plus, that would totally help you make some money on it as well as get your name out there as well. A friend refers a friend who refers another friend and such.

Sarah~ I have PCOS too and we conceived my DS while on BCP and we weren't trying either. He's now a very active 20 month old. Now if only we could conceive another (been trying since beg. of June).

Well, I guess I scared the girl off. I had sent her an email telling her that I couldn't do a daytime crop and would she be interested in doing an evening one with me. No reply. So I guess I'm going to try and startup a meeting/crop with the interested people on meetup dot com and all other people that I know.

Do you think I should try to get one in before Christmas or just wait until the holidays are over?

I think the sooner the better. Definitely try for after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. Unless you can pull one together before Thanksgiving. This time of year coming up gets so busy!

Sorry to be MIA for a few days. My computer had a virus or something and had gotten to the point that I couldn't even get online. I think I have the virus gone but it is still acting kinda screwy.

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. One of my boys was sick on Halloween so we didnt get to do the traditional trick or treating that night. But I dressed them up last night and took them around to family memebers. So they could at least do some trick or treating. They had a great time even if it wasn't on Halloween.

you could try finding a simple sketch (try pagemaps dot com) and you could still focus on one or two techniques. get a list of whatever supplies you'll be using and try to get an amount to charge from that.

Jenn, I've got some basic 2-pagers that I did at a class at my LSS I can take some pics up and put online for ideas as well if you would like. They were done with simple techniques like inking, etc.
