I've heard that the Cuttlekids machine will ONLY use the Cuttlekids dies. I don't personally have one, but I've seen threads about it before. Hope that helps:)
they only work on cuttle kids dies. the kids dies on the other hand will work in any diecut machine just like the regular dies. You do have to use a shim to get it thick enough tho.
In a pinch I used my DD's cuttleKid to cut a sizzix sizzlets strip, as well as a few cuttlebug dies. She has used it with cuttlebug embossing folders too, but I can't remember the sandwich - it might be 2 cutlekid b plates, as it has to be thinner than what you use with the cuttlekids dies which are thinner. For the Sizzlets, I think I used both of the long sizzix plates for the sizzlets strip dies. The two of them together are thinner than the A & B plates that came with the cuttlekids.
Although I did try it that one time (it cut fine for both sizzix and cuttlebug), I am reluctant to try it again. At the time I could get a replacement cuttlekids at M's for $15 if I did ruin it, but they don't have any more, so I'm not messing with it as DD would be heartbroken if I mussed it up.
While I was on vacation DD became addicted to my cuttlebug, but seeing as she is only 2.5 its a little hard for her to use. Is the cuttlekids easier for little ones? I want to get one for her because she loves mine. She is also addicted to glitter glue but I keep her away from my stickles. Mommy can't share everything, she gets her own from the dollar store.
Well I have to say I love my cuttlebug and could never imagine something better but I'm not a huge sizzix fan. It's way too expensive in Canada and only M's carries it. Atleast I can get replacement cuttlebug pads at walmart for $8 compared to the $15 that Michaels wants. I love my littlebug its great for crops and if you put it on a flat surface it does stick (try a small piece of plxiglass if your table is not smooth). I guess I will keep sharing the cuttlebug with DD since she loves the spellbinder dies anyways.
