glimmer mist

I have been debating on getting some glimmer mist to play with. Is it worth my time and $s? Also I read somewhere you can make your own. Does anyone know how or where I can find this information? thanks to all.

That mist is really fun! It isn't as glimmery-shiny as Glimmer Mist is though. Mostly cause of the Distress Ink.

I love Glimmer Mist so much. But, I know some people don't, I think it depends on your scrappy style.

I really like glimmer mist too. It can be VERY messy, but I love the way it looks.

I was working on a page with it two nights ago and I had it ALL over my hands. They were completely blue and brown, but they had a nice shimmer to them so I didn't mind too much.

I haven't been really thrilled with glimmer mist.. doesn't seem to give enought glimmer..
any hints from you ladies?

It is a subtle glimmer. I like to take chipboard or grungeboard and saturate it in glimmer mist. It really soaks up the color well and makes it sparkle.

Shake it up REALLY good...that disperses the glimmer in the bottle. Short and fast sprays are the best, with a sweeping motion.

Also, if you want real SHINE and don't like the mist, Perfect Pearls by Ranger are SUPER shiny...it is a powder that you can use over stamped inked images to create shine.

good tips... I knew to shake well etc. but sure never thought about soaking the chipboard. DO you paint/ink the chipboard first?

Haven't tried that powder but it sounds like a great idea. How does it compare to Diamond Glaze?

As far as making your own, i watched the video- but after i buy all the different colors of ink and powder stuff, am i really saving any money? Plus i have to buy the bottles too?? I guess the plus side is i would have enough mixure to make it over and over. GM is $7 a bottle- anyone know price wise how much all the other stuff is?
I love GM and have a good collection going, but i think i am done for awhile!

Well, Diamond Glaze is like Glossy Accents, it is a shiny clear liquid glue, Perfect Pearls is a loose powder (it sorta looks like loose eyeshadow in the pot) and you use a paintbrush to sweep it on and a fluffy brush to sweep of the excess. it makes things SUPER shiny and sorta slick looking.

hmm...I bought the pearl glimmer mist for myself and the snow angel for my sister, but I was wondering...As to flowers and chipboard, what colors do you think is used the most? I mean, Should I start buying the standard type of colors first or what?

I use Graphite alot. Its a greyish color with a super shiny glimmer..
As far as chipboard you can make any plain chipboard any color you want. Flowers will become any color you want I think pearl and snow angel are far too light you almost don't see them.
Just did a birthday page and used the HECK out of my glimmer mist..

I used every color I have posted. layerd them to make the colors I wanted. The chipboard taht I put my name on was just plain.. well its the back side of these chipboard shapes I got that are made my american crafts. The fronts are ugly colors but the backs become what I want.

as for what colors you want to buy..you need to pick what you like. I have only boys so pinks are not big in my box. Candy apple red is awesome, Tuscan sun is fab..let me look in your gallery to see what you style is

after looking I think pink bubblegum latte and vintage pink would fit into your pages. I noticed you ink the edges of some of your papers. you can use glimmer mist the same way. so think of the colors you use for that.. browns, tans things like that. But on black paper the pearl, gold, and light colors show up great..

Okay, I have had a bottle of old lace for awhile and kinda use it here and there but wasn't really blown away. Well, my lss had a 20% off sale and I bought garden fairy and brick and some tattered angels masks...well...it is AWESOME. I LOVE the brick colour. I think my problem was the old lace was so subtle it didn't suit me, I like big, bold colours. So, I can officially say I am hooked on glimmer mist!!!

They are addicting! I love Tuscan Sun and Brick as well! I cannot wait to get more. I am almost out of Graphite. BUMMER!! I want some greens and pinks.

So far I only have tattered leather and turquoise. I would like to get a green one, graphite, and some more clear ones just to add a bit of shimmer.

I adore Patina too its really pretty. I just counted 40 bottles
