Ok THIS IS a dumb question, but why do you add these manufacturers to your place. Do they send you specials or something?

Typically they blog, and if you're interested in the company, you can select them as your favorite blog and you'll receive an email each time they blog. Sometimes they blog new products, other times they blog prize giveaways or contests, and so on... if it's a manufacturer you like, it keeps you up to date with their newest happenings and product releases.
