song lyrics?

So I want to use a song we heard at the fair as the backround for a scrapbooking page. Im doing 8 by 8 but plan to print on a 8 by 11 page of cardstock so I can run it through the printer. so my question is how do I put the lyrics on the page and have them look cool? Whats a good font? How have you done it before? what programs do you use? I fooled around with it a bit in word and didnt like how it looked. Oh yea, this scrapbook is a gift for my boyfreind so Im obsessed with it looking good. HELP!

What didn't you like about the look in Word? I guess it's hard for me to tell exactly what look you're going for - looking cool is a bit subjective, kwim? What style do you want? Do you have an example?

I think it depends on the song-romantic song lyrics in script fonts, I did the lyrics to Thriller in the font chiller in word. You can search the internet for free fonts and find a ton of different options you can download to your computer.

I tried tilted word art but that look right. I guess I kinda want to start in one corner and have it go on an angle accorsssed the page, I think. Actully I have no clue what im going for but I want it to look good LOL. Im new at making fancy scrapbooks.

I'm not sure if I understand what you're looking for, but what I would do is create it in Microsoft Publisher if you have it. It's so much easier to use for these types of projects than Word, IMO. Make an 8x8 text box and type/copy the lyrics in. I'd think a cool background would be to print the lyrics in a color just a few shades darker than the bg cs and have the lyrics fill up the whole page. I'm not sure what computer font this would relate to, but something like the Washington Quickutz alpha would be a fun one to try if it fits the feel of the song.

Search for "Free fonts" on the I'net and download one that feels "right" to you. You could always print it on a transparency and use it as a layover on your layout.

My advice...
1. Type lyrics into a Word file, use two spaces (on the same line) between song lines or insert a symbol if concerned with noting breaks, repeating as many times as necessary so the lyrics cover the entire page
2. Adjust margins of paper to a minimum
3. Use a free online font download (dafont.com, 1001fonts.com) to chose a great font

You can see an example of where I made my own lyrics paper in my gallery (I believe titled Picture to Burn?), but I can't remember how to link that her now.

For those lyrics I would almost use something lightening boltish - for the font of pick a really cool font and print it on velum with a big lightening bolt behind it.

look up 1001 fonts or dafont. They have lots of unusual fonts. I'm sure they will have a rock and roll inspired font which would look great.
