CricutMachine has a sale on cartridges starting at $14.92. I have over 100 carts, but I didn't have some of those listed and the prices looked very good.
On Thursday night, I placed an order for 4 items - "Cricut Cake Everyday" and "Cricut Cake Seasonal" which were $14.92 each; and 2 of the bundles, which were $25.95 for a pair -- "Spring Seasonal" and "Holiday Seasonal." The shipping charge came to another $11.16, so the total was now $92.90.
After placing the order, I checked ebay and found a couple of the individual carts that were part of the bundle listed at much higher prices and described as "rare" and "not available in stores" or something else special. Then I checked the detailed descriptions and images that sometimes come with each auction. That's when I found out that all of the carts I had ordered are samplers, containing images taken from a variety of other carts. Since I already own most of those other carts, the samplers are duplicates of what I have, and I didn't need them!
I tried to call the company to cancel the order, but a recorded message said they could not take any calls at that time and to send an email. There was no option to leave a message. I sent the email right away, figuring it was late in the day and the office was closed. I called again the next day (yesterday - Friday), but got the same recording, so I sent another email. Tried calling again later the same day but still got the same recording.
$92 is a lot of money for something I don't need. The office may be closed for the Columbus Day weekend, but did they take a 4-day holiday including Friday? I am hoping they don't ship out the order before it can be cancelled, and that I get the refund, which was made with my PayPal account.
PayPal says to settle any dispute with the seller before making a claim, but the CricutMachine website said to wait 24 hours after the next business day for a response to the email. Meanwhile I'm feeling very uneasy about it. It was my fault for placing the order without first checking it out more carefully.
If you don't own all the carts in the samplers, then it really is a good buy for a customer, so you might want to check it out.
