Best way to ship 12x12 album?

I have been clearing out my stash and just sold a few albums on Ebay. My question is: what is the best way to ship a 12x12 album? I can't find a box big enough. Can I cut heavy duty cardboard to put on the top and bottom and wrap in bubble wrap? Then wrap in brown paper to ship?
Please help! TIA!

The USPS has flat rate boxes that will hold 12x12 paper. I haven't tried an album tho. These are the free boxes (12x12x5.5 size) and cost $14.95 to mail any where in the US. Each box can be up to 70 pounds.

I think cutting heavy duty cardboard and wrapping the album in bubble wrap will work well. The 12x12x5.5 box won't work for an album, since the album has to be larger than the paper. THey do have larger boxes- which are also free to get, but they will cost more to ship and you'll have to put lots of padding.

Also- I just thought of this- Check your local stores, any store- package store, grocery store, wal mart, see if they will let you pick through their used boxes (some will)- you may just find the perfect box out there. Then all you have to do is cut it flat- turn it inside out, and tape it back together. (or wrap it in brown paper but I never have that at my house)

If the album isn't hugely thick, use a 16x16 pizza box. Just ask your local pizza place for a box, build it up inside out so you don't have their logo on the outside and then put some bubble wrap inside to pad it out. That's what I did and it worked a treat.

Thanks for the ideas!! I was totally at a loss! And I don't want to spend a million dollars just to ship the thing! Thanks for the ideas!
