JetMax paper storage

I see more and more people using the JetMax boxes for storing their paper, and it seems most of them are storing their paper vertically in the slots. I use those boxes as well, but just automatically stored my paper horizontally. I'm assuming (aside from personal preference) that there must be an advantage to storing paper vertically?

The only advantage I can think of is that it is easier to sort through the paper to see what you have and get the piece you need.
But, to me the disadvantage is that when the paper stands for awhile, unless it is totally braced, it will start to bow and curl. Personally, I don't want my paper all curled up. And especially this time of year in Iowa with the humidity.
I store mine stacked horizontally either on my rack or my paper stacks are in a pile on my floor.

I too store mine horizontally. I think for me it's because I live on the west coast and grew up on the east coast. LOL

I'm one that stores vertically....not only is it easier to get the paper out and find what you are looking for, you seem to be able to fit more in!
I use plastic dividers to divide the colours/patterns.
I used to do horizontal but I like this way better!

Hmm, I use Cropper Hoppers right now, but I wonder if these cubes would work better for me in my current setup. What are the precise outside dimensions?

It's easier to put a page back if it's vertical. You don't have to pick up what's on top and hope you got it in straight without wrinkling anything.
I took Kaisercraft Beyond the Page wooden storage, painted it all white and stood them on their side so they would be vertical. Like the smaller dividers for each kind of paper.

The paper storage one I have is 14 1/2" by 14 1/2"
However, there seems to be some variance as another storage cube is only 14" x 14 1/2"

I use the jetmax cubes for paper as well. I store my loose paper vertically, easier to pick through and put back as mentioned above, and doesn't get very warped when there is a lot in there.

Then I store my stacks horizontally, fitting 2 thick ones or several thin ones per shelf. This allows me to kind of loosely categorize them. All my Christmas/holiday stacks are together, my 2 photo stacks are together, etc. I don't care about brand at all so I don't store that way.
