Book Of Me Challenge

I'm not seeing a Challenge for a Book of Me.

Who would be interested in trying one if I start it. There are a lot of ideas via lists on here and elsewhere.

I would be interested. I'm working on a BOM, so why not join a challenge for it.

I'll answer this, even though I'm not Di. A Book of Me or BOM, is a scrapbook all about yourself and your hobbies, interests, etc.

I would pick something (like I did this month Donna for our Grans challenge: your favorite movie). Personally I want to record via scrapbooking my growing up; different elements, jobs I've had, early goals, family comedy... just examples.

I'm going to go back thru my gallery and add layouts I've done for my BOM and add them to that new Gallery category I made...

hey Di, Some of us are doing that in our heritage challenge here It is 70s pics & before I have done BOM pages for it

Umm, some of us can't put any pictures before 1979 in a BOM. ROFL. Some of you wonderful ladies are old enough to be my mother. And I only have 4 pictures older than 1979 in my entire photo collection. My DH has gobs in his, but I have been told "No, you can't scrap them". I told him I didn't want to scrap originals, but he still says "keep your scrappy hands off my family photos". He's such a party pooper.

That's the thing... I have few if any photos of me. Do not like my pics.

hey Donna & the others who do not have many pics of yourself... It is fine... some people do a page about the house they grew up in.... you just use t he house...or just pics of the town... (not you in the town) or some do why you are named....you don't need a pic of you,,you can use a pic of your relative.. some pages are 50 things I love.. you do not need to use pics for that some are things I hatew.. no pics needed some are doing things you never knew about me... you do not need to do a pic or you can do a pic of you older.. If you do not have those town pics just use the pic of the state it does not have to be pics from when you were younger.. you are doing t he memories
another is family resemblance..do you look like your mom or grandma or do your kids look like them? you can just use pics of your kids.. another is things i am grateful for you do not need any pics at all... another is places I love no need to have a pic of you in those places.. I just used a sticker or tag or something that represented the places.. like beach stickers...
do not think you need pics to do this I do not have pics of me either in all these things so I used stickers one i did was about my love for Dave. I did use a small pic of dave but I used stickers to fill the page up

I do have several pictures of myself, but very few of myself after about age 22.

I have two BOM's that I'm working on. One is a book about me from birth to about age 19. The reason for that book is to save some old books that were badly damaged by my local fire department. The original books fell apart, and some the marker ink has ran on. Also, there are photos in that book that I will use originals of because I want to destroy what my grandmother wrote on the backs of the photos. She likes to use photos to document traumatic events. She will use a good, normal photo but write something traumatizing on the back of them. For example, there is a picture of me when I was 18 months old...nice picture. However, on the back she wrote "This was taken two months after Alicia's little accident". I know what she's referring to, it wasn't an "accident" but it was something traumatic that happened at the hands of another person and almost killed me. Since I don't EVER want anyone who was not born at the time that happened to ask about it, but I like the photo, I scrapped it to preserve the photo but not what's on the back.

She wrote that little comment on the back of all of the photos in the above LO. I need to scan and upload that page again because I used a photo of it to upload it, and it doesn't show up right. Also, there are other pages that were done at the same time as that one that I also need to scan and upload again for the same reason.

I also have a photo of me that was taken when I was a sophomore in high school. The photo is nice, but why did she have to write "Alicia lost a baby 3 months after this photo was taken". Did she think I would forget about that??? That baby was also referred to as "Alicia's little mistake". It wasn't a mistake, I intentionally got pregnant and well, loosing that baby only caused pain for ME and not anyone else in my family. But that was before I had my boys and not something I want my boys or their children to ever ask about.

My other BOM is my art/junk journal. It's going to be full of pages that don't have photos of me. This page is in that BOM, it's one of my favorite songs.
