black and white photos

Is it just me or does anyone else have more trouble working with black and white photos as apposed to color photos? I just found a picture of a relative fro the 1700's and trying to figure out what to do with it. I know I am definitely doing some journaling. I tried looking up black and white photo ideas in the gallery but not sure if that is a category or how i would find them.

I actually love black and white photos and often change my color photos to black and white. Below is one of my favorite paper collections I have used with black and white photos. Good luck!

Hi Kelley, I used to worry about that but I quickly realized that I prefer to use papers that I love or go with the page I have a monthly heritage challenge here I would be thrilled if you joined us. It is any decade.. I have ideas but you do not need to use them

I love using colors & things they loved too here are a few of mine

I've never done a challenge on here. Maybe that's what I need to get creative. Is there a thread for it?

First I would copy the photo and put it in a safe environment.
Then if you have a photo program change it to sepia image. If you have a program like Corel you could colorize the photo.

Try the challenges as it gets the ball rolling and helps you overcome the hesitation you are feeling. Try making a copy like Don said. A friend of mine started scrapping with paper photo copies until she was comfortable enough to start using real photos. It did not take long.

No trouble using black and white photos. My gallery is full of it if you want to check it out.

I prefer black and white photos, A hint is to with Browns or muted greens or dark reds.

See how the browns and reds make the black and white photo pop?

I have a monthly heritage photos challenge here you can do any decade & I have ideas but you do not need to do them lots of nice people who will help you

When it's ancestry or heritage photos, I love to switch it to sepia as well as b&w. There are so many awesome papers and embellishments to do heritage layouts. I'm constantly looking for inspiration in the galleries.
