Does it bother you that....?

Does it bother you that the music on some Youtube videos is too loud or just plain awful?

Does it bother you that Youtube presenters do a live video and do more "Hi, Maisey... Hello, Dan... I see you Alicia" than the actual crafting stuff?

Yes and Yes, but I know how to move on.

Some is very loud, some isn't loud enough. But, they are all recorded in different places with different sound levels so it is the nature of the YouTube beast. Doesn't really bother me though. I have separate speakers and a little round volume control for them so I adjust them constantly. When I open a YouTube I automatically put my hand on the volume dial and catch it at the first few words.

I've never heard one where the presenter was saying hello to people. Sounds like Romper Room with they would hold up a big glass on with a handle and say, "I see you Johnny and there is Michael and Susan. Good morning Sandra and Jerry!"

What has been driving me insane is the videos, mostly music videos that get to the middle of the song and break for a commercial. Right in the middle of a song - even a gospel song. You are singing along and then they are talking about insurance, and then the music picks right back up. I'm not dealing well with that.

As soon as the commercial starts I go to another video. I don't stick around for the ending of the music.

I'm with you Henri, when commercials start in the middle of a video I move on! The more commercials I can't skip the less I will be on YouTube, or any other place for that matter.
The volume I can control so that does not bother me.

I think people present on you tube for different reasons. I avoid the "Chatty Cathys" if I can.

Miss Frances! That is who the Romper Room host was. I forgot that. But I sure remember her with that magnifying glass - or maybe it was a mirror with a handle. Don't remember.

Okay - just did a little homework. Miss Frances was the original hostess of Romper Room - and she had a make believe school room called Ding Dong School. I can't believe I pulled her name out of the hat and remembered her. She died in 2001.

However, it was Miss Mary Ann (I had forgotten her name) who later took over Romper Room and is the one who had the magic mirror. The article I just read said that parents sent in their children's names to be mentioned when she looked into her magic mirror.

She actually carried the mirror with her throughout her life until she died and always had it with her. People remember the magic mirror from their childhood (like I did) and love to see it - very nostalgic to those of us who grew up in that time.

I think you are talking about live videos vs. recorded videos. I hate live videos and never watch them. I don't need to listen to a stranger chat up a storm, but apparently their are some folks out there that really like that.

As far as music goes, I try not to complain because making a video is HOURS of time with no pay. They can choose what they like especially if they took the time to make something that is hugely inspiring. Plus, according to all the copyright laws, they have a limited amount of free music to choose from anyway.

As far as volume goes, that is up to you.

YouTube premium is the way to go!
No ads or commercials!
I know it’s another monthly charge but I primarily watch YouTube so I would pay it.
I say “would” because right now my son pays for it and I’m on his account- but if he ever stops I would pick it up.

Didn't know you could pay for YouTube without the ads. I will be checking into YouTube premium.

Most of the videos that drive me insane are on Facebook. I was watching a gospel quarten and the music was so pretty - and then in the middle of the song without warning - they stopped to sell me insurance. I just turned it off.

Was also listening to a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled banner and there was a commercial in the middle! I HATE that - both were ones I clicked on in Facebook.

The odd thing is...commercials do not bother me. Although interrupting a song is bad. Sell you stuff before or after the video but not during.

Exactly. I haven't noticed it the last few days so maybe there have been a ton of complaints!

You can use AdBlock, it's free and blocks all the adds (CNN, YouTube, etc) I can't afford the paid YouTube and it wouldn't block adds on other sites. I love AdBlock (I'm not affiliated with tem in anyway) and it may be a solution for you if you ever lose your son account.

Lately I haven't seen in the middle of the videos anymore - just breaking into a song. Hopefully they got so many complaints that people didn't want to watch a song and get an ad in the middle of it. I can handle them before the video starts but not in the middle.

Just read there is an adblock version for Microsoft Edge, which is what I use. They page says it will block internet ads, but that it is in early development stages and there may be side effects to it on the websites. They are working on correcting those issues and will send updates regularly as they work out the bugs.

What kind of issues are they talking about? I'm tempted - but want to know what side effects they are talking about.

Don't know if that is with all browsers or AdBlock specifically for Microsoft Edge.

Am going to keep investigating this - I had no idea about it.
