I am new to scrapbooking, and had never heard of DCWV until I came onto scrapbook.com. Now I need to find a store that carries the DCWV product
Oh hurry hurry hurry!!!! The 12X12 stacks are on sale at Joann's through the weekend for 9.99 usually 19.99!!!!! I don't think it gets much better than that!!!! I got 3 stacks last week and I'm going back today for the Far East stack!!!!! Stocking up until the next sale!!!! Why pay full price, right? Michael's often has Coupons for 50% off 1 full price item through the year, but 50% off the DCWV stacks as many as you want is a good GOOD sale and if you want them, now is the time!!! They were on sale at Michaels for 30% off, but 50% is better!!!!

Oh Holly you are the little devil in my shoulder now I'm thinking what else I need from DCWV!!!, I hope this evening they have more stack because wednesday was empty!!!
I went to buy the Far East Stack,,,,and to my disappointment,,,,I didn't like it. I bought the Gradeschool stack, which I loveeed and the pocketful of posies,,,
and I also bought the Fiskars b order punch in Lace, pretty, but I'm playing with it and having a bit of a learning curve on matching up the lace pattern,,,good thing I have some old papers to try it on,,,
and a tiny frog stamp for my fairy tale that I'm working on with the Once Upon a Time papers in which there will be a hidden frog on every page that you will have to find I'm going to stamp him in gold and hide him in some of the gold detailing on the pages
Ok gals let me give you the scoop on the stacks...(J's employee). We get our truck in on Thursdays....so first thing friday morning I start stocking....I only received one pack(total of 3 stacks) of each of the new stacks of the 12x12's. One pack of the citrus 4x6. We have no control what comes in on the truck. SOOOOO.... ask your store when they receive and then stalk that store!!!! You can also special order the stacks at the sale price!!!! Now let me boast!!!!!Yesterday I left with Whimsey, Citrus, Latte, Nana's Kitchen, Garden Party, Taj Mahal and Le Creme 12x12's and some matching 4x6's. It really pays to have them on sale the same day as employee double discount day>
sigh,,,,OK, I need a 12 step program Because I went out AGAIN last night and bought (NOT at the 50% sale price because THAT is over) the Rock Star stack. It is absolutely PERFECTO for scrapping my 20 year old son,,,,
and that is a tall order, the boy is IMPOSSIBLE to scrap! I still got it at 40% off, but not 50%, so I was happy,,,
In 3 weeks I have picked up SIX stacks! People, I've only been scrapping 4 weeks,,,,,one of which I had bronchial pneumonia,,,,what does this tell you?????
HOOKED I TELL YOU!!! If I buy any more paper, my DH is going to wrap me in paper and stuff me in the closet!

That's it for this week,,,,,,danged recession

I only like about half the papers in the Far East stack. I really wish they (manufacturers) wouldn't put Asian words/letters on the papers. I hate having something on there that I don't know what it says plus being Korean, most things are either in Chinese or Japanese, so not fitting for my layouts. I ended up covering up where I could.
Still it worked great for my mother's 70th birthday album.
I looked at the boy's stack and it's not really what I'd use.

I hit M's today for 48 sheets of paper at 8/$1 my first really big paper purchase other than one tablet, is that what you ladies call a stack? I think I'll probably stick to buying just the loose sheets right now as I don't have all that many pictures to use yet and if I get loose pages I can get a bigger variety to my way of thinking. I'll probably hit my favorite LSS, next Saturday provided the weather's nice as it's about a 3 hr. ride on the bus from where I live. LOL
I went to Big Lots today. Most of the stuff in then SB aisle were things I didn't like. Today, they had DCWV papers! Not whole sizes but strips perfectly cut to go through a Sizzix Sidekick, 12 inches long for a $1 each; 42 strips for $1!!!! I bought all 7 that were there.
There were also same width sized stacks for $1 but only square, not 12" long. So I passed on those.

Holly, check out other J's in the area. I was just at mine tonight (I live in FL) and bought them for $10 each, including the premium stacks (Grade School & Tahiti). They are a penny more than what you'd pay for them at 50% off. If your store won't honor it...the ad is right on the front page of their website...2 for $20 (and they'll ring up $10 each). The premium sale for 40% is for NEXT week NOT this week...according to the flyer I just got in the mail today.
YESSSSS, lol, I bought two this week And I am going back for more,,,LOL,,,,,i want the Old World stack,,,I never thought I'd use it much but someone sent me a few pieces and I've used almost ALL of them Thanks for letting me know though,,,,
I went to J's to get the studio G christmas $ stamps and had to put blinders on when I walked past the DCWV 40% off sale. I do not need anymore paper at the moment, but they were calling my name.
Oh dear hunny...since when does paper buying have anything to do with need??????

EXACTLY,,,,,,
One must realize that there is a different KIND of need when it comes to paper,,,
ESPECIALLY beautiful paper,,,
ESPECIALLY the kind of paper that makes you drool,,,,
You can have 20 stacks at home in the Cropper Hopper ,,,,
yet a paper can call to your soul,,,,it can hook you,,it can reel you in,,,,,,,,
there are worse things in the world you know,,,,
give in to it,,,,,,,feel the beauty beneath your fingers,,,,,,feast on it with your eyes,,,
I tend to stay away from paper stacks (except solid cs) because I end up with so much that I don't want or can't use. I'd rather buy by the sheet and know I'm getting exactly what I want. I know most here won't agree with me, but it's just my point of view.

I hear you, but I love the paper. And if you have some, you don't think you use, you could always donated it to a group home, boy and girls club.

Me too, unless there's one that I love. I was buying a stack that I've been wanting and also checked out their individual paper cause they were on sale too (5/$1 - their .59 cent paper). I found some individual papers from the DCVW Once Upon a Time and also some from one of the other series. They want $2 per sheet!!!! At that point it's cheaper to buy the stack when it's on sale or with a coupon then buying a few of the individual papers.
I just got a 48 page stack in pastels for $7.99 at TM's - but I'll need it because I'm planning dd's surprise graduatin party next month and it's butterfly themed - I'm making the decorations, invites and butterfly placecards, so I'll need it all I'm sure. It's actually my first time buying a stack!
I am addicted to them,,,,I've been scrapping for 2, maybe 2 and a half months,,,,
I have bought at least 12 stacks. Its a sickness I tell you,,,,,,,sick sick sick.
And I do not want a cure,,,,,I'm going to go buy Late, or something elegant like that,,,, and probably the Citrus stack this week,,,,,I love the metallic cs, or I might buy the metallic stack,,,,,I need to look at it,,,,,
Yup - first time. I'm just getting off my Lenten fast from scrapshopping, and prior to that I strictly bought individual sheets in whatever colors I needed, so...there you go. There's a first time for everything!
I recent discovered that when you use the Adhesive Cardstock with your Sizzix it only punches through the card stock so it was kind of like making your own stickers. I'm sure someone has figured this out too, but this is a time saver when using your alphabets.
DCWV junkie me cant live without them and they always work well together so your never stuck for matching papers up... I have brought nearlly every stack possible and really have had my moneys worth
I have not yet bought any paper packs myself. I'm still a newbie. However my MIL & SIL do, and sometimes they let me swipe some of their stuf to do a page, or to add to one I'm working on. To me the biggest plus is that it's easy to use the papers together. I'm pretty sure the pros outweigh the cons and that you would be really please with the purchase. DCWV has some really awesome stuff, and it's always great to find a sale. My MIL has taught me that. =]
