glue dot stuck on photo

Hi everyone! I am totally new at scrapbooking and one of my photos cut into the shape of my flower layout and after pressing it into place, I noticed had some of the glue dot from under the pic, wrap over onto the front of the photo!

Too late to unstick the photo and I tried rubbing it off but just made it worse

Is there a trick to remove glue from a photo without degrading the photo?

I've always used Un-Du to remove adhesive runner when I've accidently gotten it onto a photo. It does not harm photos at all. I have also used it to loosen/unstick glue dots from embellisments or scrapbook paper. Never had a glue dot stick to a photo, however. I did notice with glue dots that I had to let the Un-Du soften the glue dot a bit and work it off gradually. You might give it a try.

Was the photo professionally printed or printed at home?

I think Undu IS lighter fluid!

Lighter fluid is butane.
Un-do is heptane. Bestine is the same stuff but much cheaper than Un-do.

But then wouldn't whichever product used then get on the lo if the pic is already on the lo?

Glue dot mishaps happen ... but somehow with me they end up on my glasses somehow. Undo.

Can't speak for the other products, but Un-Du will not harm the photo or scrapbook paper. It evaporates within a few seconds without a trace.

edited to add: I should add that I get the regular Un-Du formula. I accidently got the California formula once and didn't care for it at all. I thought I'd ruined my layout because the damp spot didn't disappear immediately. Apparently, there is something added to or omitted from the Cali formula that makes the product take FOREVER to evaporate.

Good to know about the California version. Another reason to buy Bestine instead. Which, being the same chemical, also evaporates without a trace.

Yeah, the California version is fundamentally chemically different (I looked at the material safety data sheets for both and they are nothing at all alike, confirmed by my chemist husband), as the regular version exceeds California's permitted level of volatile organic compounds.
