HOw do you store an idea clippings from the magazines?

Hello dear Scrapbookers



I have a question:I know that you are using sketches/page maps.
How do you store them/ your idea pages/page maps ?
The reason I am asking is that I love my Scrapbooking magazines and still keep them,but they take waaaaay too much space,not to mention paper,that could be recycled.(We are talking about 10-year long subscription).Tearing them apart means losing the bulk of the outdated products ads, but if I cut layouts only, and put them in a binder,I will lose the techniques,provided along with it,as well as the supplies list.
I was thinking about scanning it and storing on my computer,but it will take me a lifetime to do so...
Any suggestions?Thank you!

Other than what you already thought of, I can't think of anything other than maybe keeping the sketch and taping it to a plain sheet of paper where you can write out the supplies needed, etc. Or just keep the sketches as inspiration and pass on the rest. I know, it can be a hard process. I found myself recycling a bunch. I just kept my favorite issues and utilize Pinterest more and more to keep track of sketches and layouts I love. I have yet to go back to the magazines and I feel they will probably be recycled soon.

Another option would be to use a 3 ring binder. Take out the pages you want (including the page sketches and maps) and put them in a binder. I use binders for all sorts of things at my house. My husband calls me a binder junkie. But I've found that 3 ring binders and clear plastic sheets are some of my best friends. If you don't want to use 3 ring binders, then you could use tabbed pocket folders, and let each folder have a theme of sorts.

I put them in my Smash book.

I do the same. I pull out the layouts and sketches and place in protected sheets and put those in a 3 ring binder. I have it organized as layouts sketches and organization/craft room ideas.

I have an art journal. I used to cut ideas from my scrapping and card mags. until they all went out of biz. I just cut out the parts I need and tape them in my journal. If I needed the other side of a page I ran a copy of the easiest side and cut the other side.
Now I print out things I see on line, and cut out things I see in ads, newspapers, and other printed media, to add to the journal.
When I see something neat on you tube I put it in favorites under "scrap ideas".

I used to save all sorts of paper inspiration, but it got to the point where I was just taking up space without really upping my productivity. If I really liked it and couldnt pass it up, I would take a picture of it with my phone and then upload it to my computer. But that was the age before Pinterest. Now if I get layouts, tips, etc anywhere else, I just pin it to my scrapbooking board.

I use an accordion file case and organize into pockets them based on the number of photos within the layout.

Another binder user here. I tear out the page that I want to keep and insert it into a clear protective sheet, then pop it in my binder.

I have a Martha Stewart aqua two tiered 8x11 or so two pocket wall thing I keep all my sketches in and an old UNT folder for any cut outs btw I ADORE BINDERS -
I have :
my health binder
my budget binder
my home mngmt binder
my goal binder
my bill binder
and then empty ones for when I'm ready to create a new project!!!!!
