magic matter on DIY network?

Hey everyone I was watching the scrapbooking show that comes on DIY network:

Anyhow, they were demonstrating this tool called "Magic Matter" and its basically these little disc circles with a hole in the middle that you use with a pencil to trace around your picture or figure you want to mat. Then you use the traced line to cut out. It looked rather interesting but she didn't do it enough to figure out if it was easy to use. Just wondering if anyone's heard of it or used it before!

Magic Matter:

Draws precise lines for matting unusually-shaped photos or die-cuts. The tool is used with a pencil or pen, which is positioned with the point inside the small center hole. Then, the Magic Matter is placed against the edge of whatever item needs to be matted. It simply rolls against the edge as you trace the shape.

Can also be used to trace inside templates. Using different sizes of the Magic Matter will increase the versatility of lettering templates, allowing one template to create letters of many sizes.

When used with a vanishing ink pen, the lines will disappear after the mat is cut.

I have the magic mats. I like to use them when I cut my photos into shapes and I want to mat them.
I had to order them and they were kindo of hard to find. Worth the cost of 6 dollars.

I've got some thing very similar. I don't use them much. Mine are supposed to be able to put a swivel craft knife in them to actually cut around what you want. I found it difficult to work with. Maybe I need to play with it more.

It was good for spacing exactly around something, though.

I have them, but don't use them-actually haven't used them for a while. I found them years ago at a scrapbook store while on a trip. I caught the same show you did-it's an older one, I've seen it before. However, watching those shows often sparks an idea, so I've dug them out and plan on using them today!

I had them and wasn't using them like I thought I would. I traded them with a friend of mine and she loves them. She uses them for matting monograms for her swaps as well as pics, etc.

So, one woman's trash turned into another's treasure!

I have something like this from StampinUp - Don't use it much - but it works pretty good.

I purchased my Magic Matter from Meijers & I used a lot when I 1st purchased it...I have every intention on pulling it out & using it once I get my scrapbook room set up @ our new house...It is great for matting letters & pic...

I bought mine a long time ago. Don't use it a lot, but enough to make it more than worth what I paid for it.

Here's a lo where I used it to make a mat for the pic--can't imagine not having it for this one!

I have them and they are great for thing with large curves. Don't work as well on small curves. For staight edges, it's perfect layers all the way. QVC is selling the four piece set for $20

One of the first tools I bought and I still use it ocasionally. For the price it's worth having on hand in case you need it.

i have them and i always use mine because it makes my matting stand out more to me it is good on my cut out alphabets i got mine at freds for 5.99 last yr.

I got them at a LSS going out of Business. Used once, and found I had no patience for them. They are lost somewhere in the bottomless pit that is my scrapping tote.

I never wanted one until I was given a card that had a matted image on it. Now it's definitely on my wish list! I have a swivel craft knife so I'm hoping that will work in it... if not, there's always the stand by Cutterbees.
(BTW--TAC carries it!)
