i got mine today...how do you like it if you have it? i used it breifly and takes little getting use to manuvering but i like it so far

I've seen this in mags and on tv - I've looked for it in the stores - I hope that it works good - let us know - I'd like to get one!

it seemed to work well on what i practiced on i didnt have it plugged in for long so im not sure how hot it gets....ill try again tomorrow let ya know

I've had mine since they came out. I got it with a 50% off coupon. It works fine. I use it for ribbon and I have also used it for the occasional fabic iron on that I put on close to an edge or corner.

Call me crazy, but I just use my flat iron that I use on my hair. I set it the lowest heat and it works great for taking kinks out of ribbon.

I've also heard of this. I use the light bulb in my lamp I have on by my table. Have to make sure not to get it right on the bulb tho if its too hot. It will either scorch or burn the ribbon - especially the "man-made material" ribbons.

I keep looking at the ribbon irons because I REALLY need one, but the cord keeps stopping me. I am NEVER near an outlet when I scrapbook either at home or at crops. I don't want to have to keep getting up and down to use one. I also won't run a drop cord when the kids are running around and the iron has to stay where I can grab it and keep the kids away from it. It would be nice if they had one that was battery operated and rechargeable. For that reason I am trying to find a travel flat hair iron that has a rechargeable battery. So far I am only finding the curling irons, but I haven't really gotten deep into searching yet.

I have seen butane flat irons. Perhaps that could work for you.

heard of the lamp trick but i have florescent lights and ott lite so its impossible for me to do in my scraproom unless i want to keep running up and down the stairs to use the lamps down here..but i like that its portable....and i dont really use a curling iron on my hair so i talked myself into it..ive been looking at for a long time to and i knew i was gonna get it anyways so i just speeded the process up lol

B4 I got my ribbon iron I would use just enough water 2 dampen the ribbon then use something 2 flatten it and it dries fast.
I think this method works better than the ribbon iron. Many pluses w/this method...no electricity...no dangling cords...water is everywhere...u can't get hurt this way.

I have the Heidi Swapp one, got it as a gift. I really like the size and portablility of it. Plus its cute. But I wish I had this one instead. I like that it has the two sides rather than being like a regular iron.

OMG! Excellent idea! I have the perfect sized flat iron too! (it's narrower than the regular ones) Thanks for the tip!

I just got mine and I love it! I even used it for pressing those little paper flowers that come all crinkled up from Close to My Heart.
