Paper Piecing idea

I just got this book from hot of the press with 201 paper piecing patterns. Very cool, but I don't want to trash my book tracing and copying so I came up with an easier way and I had to share, because it worked great! Just scan the page onto your computer, and I used Publisher to seperate the pieces I wanted different colors, I size it to whatever size I want, and I just print it onto the paper, and cut! It just makes the whole process faster and easier.

Just a quick question. Do you have to reverse the pattern? I use vellum paper to trace mine. Then have to reverse it to trace on the color that i want. Yours does seem easier.

That depends on which direction you want your pattern in. If you want it to look like the picture, yes you would reverse it and print it on the back of paterned paper and then you won't see the lines if you don't cut perfectly. It is much easier this way because you can do so much. Say you want two bears in your corners, you can do one pattern one way and reverse it for the other corner and it doesn't take all day to trace patterns.and you don't have all the extra pieces floating around that you use for your patterns.

I have been doing this for a couple of years with my scanner (it has a copier type program where I can decide what size I want to print something). It really makes a big difference. I have used paper piecing patterns in my 6x6 albums this way.
