Die Cut Machine - help please

I was at my LSS and the lady said that there is a new die cut machine out on the market. She said that it can take either sizzix or QuicKutz. She said it is cheaper than the sizzix but can use many different manufacturers dies. Does anyone know what's the name? I can't remember for the life of me.

I know there's one called the Wizard that's supposed to be able to use other manufactures' dies.

Was it the "Zip e'mate"? I know that machine accept sizzix and QuicKutz dies...

You ladies got me thinking. So I decided to call her. She said it is a ZAZ machine that she saw in a creative keepsake magazine. She doesn't have one yet but should be getting it next week. She's going to give it a try and see if it works as well as they say it does. I'm going to stop in there sometime next week or week after and see if she liked it. The owner said she won't sell it until she's tried it and knows it works decent.

Has anyone else used the ZAZ die cut machine? I've checked the manufacturer's website and it looks pretty cool.

there's the zip e mate and the wizard.
here are some of the differeneces:
ZIP E MATE: weighs around 6 lbs, WIZARD: under 4 lbs
ZIP: metal and plastic, WIZARD: ALL METAL
BOTH will use all manufaturers dies (QK, sizzix, sizzlets, zip e dies, spellbinders dies,etc,etc)
BOTH will emboss brass stencils
Fiskars embossing plates will go through the wizard just fine- you can use them in the zip if you break them.
Wizard has the widest paper path of any personal die cutter

The wizard is $129.00 and comes with everything you need. I think the zip is around the same price. To me, the wizard makes cleaner cuts (my opinion!) and it's wayyyyyyy more versital and PORTABLE.

and the zaz is not a nice machine. if you want to have something small like that, to just use small dies, go with the sidekick.

I've seen the Zaz and tried it out and am not impressed. You have to use your arm strength/body weight to lean on the Zaz to make the die cuts. And i'm DEFINITELY NOT impressed with the sidekick either. The sidekick isn't versitile enough to justify the cost and it breaks down too easily. It only takes specific dies; the ones specifically made for it--or the sizzlets. To me, that's just not versitile enough to justify the cost.

there is also a new one called Bosskut .. I can pm you the addy if you want. The dies are amazing, fresh and they have all kinds of cool dies like tags, etc!! I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on it!

i checked out the bosskut's website. i hope they don't fear lawsuits - they've ripped off the 'girls are weird' font (which sizzix licenses from the designer, john martz) and renamed it "cameron" and done similar thing with a few other font die sets...

oops!

and not to mention they dont answer emails or phone calls.
I've tried for months to reach them, I want a couple of their fonts. the prices are awesome!

As for the sidekick, it's a much better option than the ZAZ. the ZAZ is also more $$.

They do acutally have them licenced by the creator.. and are not a rip-off ( I know the owner) so no worries there.

if it's actually g.a.w. and licensed my john martz, why doesn't it say so? (i've been using his fonts for years, read his blog and such - he's an amusing guy). seems like not giving credit where credit's due... (with that font and the others)
