Newbie punchie swap

I would be interested and have almost every punch on earth but wont commit until I know the quantities.

If you are new to this bulletin board, or new to the world of swapping, and all the posts about swaps has gotten your attention, I am willing to host a swap with punchies so you can find out what swapping is all about. If you are interested, please post your reply here, and include your name, email address, and what punches you own. When I see how much interest there is, I will contact each of you with all the instructions, and amounts you will need to punch. Generally if your punch is smaller than a dime, it is a small punch, smaller than a quarter, a medium punch, and larger than a half dollar, it is a large punch. Amounts you need to punch are based on the size so that each of us will be using approximately the same amount of cardstock or patterned paper. I will let this message ride until Mon. morning, and then will post final details, and instructions including the deadline for items to be mailed. Nancy

One potential swapper who owns hundreds of punches and one newbie won't make a swap, so I will withdraw this idea. Tamra, I will get back to you by email with some suggestions that you may find helpful. Thanks for the response. Nancy

nancy- was offlien this weekend, but would be interested.. I have a fair # of punches... medium leaves in oak and maple, small maple, medium daisy, small heart, bow, teddy, water drop, splash, and a few otehr small ones- not sure off the top of my head..

I too was off this weekend but would be interested if you reconsider opening this swap. I have a med daisy, med flower leaf, small 3 leaf stem; CM 2 square punch; small pointed petal flower and that's it folks! I will keep checking just in case you reopen this.

2 days really isnt enough time to gather interest. I would say at least a week for those that are busy on the weekend. If I know the quantities then I might be willing but if I commit before I know the details, I don't know what I am committing to. It is important to know what a person is doing before they say they will do it. Thanks, Lane

I leave this message to ride until next Monday when I will make the final count. Amounts per swapper will depend on size of punch, but generally small punched (approx. paper shaper size) will be 24 punchies for each member of the swap. Med. sized punchies will be 16 for each member and lg. sized will be 12 per member. Total number of members to be determined by sign ups. I think a deadline of the end of May, with me return mailing June 1st. is reasonable. I will post final instructions next Mon. morning, but if any of those interested want to get busy punching, just email me and let me know which punch you want to use for this swap, and I will get you going with instructions. I would like to do this swap too. My list of punches is pretty long to list but yet I don't have hundreds. Can I just list some I think might be ok and if there isn't something there I'll list some more? Do you want the list here or in an Email? Thanks Nancy for hostessing this. Pat

I am interested. I don't have a lot of punches myself, but do have access to a lot through a scrapbooking group. I have only 4 puches all of medium size, Christmas Tree, cherub, heart & Teddy Bear.

Please give my details & I will be able to better decide if I can participate.

I just read your first notice & sent you my reply & then realized you were having trouble with the # of people participating.

For those of us with more than 1 punch, how about if we participate as more than 1 person & do more than 1 punch. I would be willing to do that which would get me more punches & would also increase the participation. Maybe others would be willing to do this too.

I'm with Beth....I'm willing to buy some punches just to participate...previously I never bought any because I didn't want to be stuck with just one and I wasn't sure what type I would use the most .....so count me in and this just gives me an excuse to go shopping !!!

Tanuja--I think one of the most used punches is the square. You can make it into border blocks, with small stickers or other embellishments in the centers, you can use it for title blocks with sticker letters, you can layer them, overlap them, make them with cardstock or patterned paper, or both. Why don't you get a square punch, and use it for this swap? Something you will be able to use later, and build your stash with punchies that you wouldn't buy yourself, but may find a use for in a layout or two. So, I will count you in, if you get back to me, and let me know you have found a square punch I know there is already one person cutting the squares, but they are so versitile, and the punch will then be one you will get lots of use out of later. Here is the final Newbie punchie swap information.

This is meant to be a short, easy swap to get newbies involved with a swap, learn the ropes, and have some fun. There are 11 members of the swap so each member will need to make 10 snack sized ziploc baggies (don't make one for yourself--you own the punch, and can use it whenever) Usually the ladies like to label their baggies in some manner so they can see who sent them what in the end. You need to put your baggies into a manila envelope, and include a self addressed stamped envelope so I can mail back to you. On the outside of your return envelope write "add'l postage insured by addressee" All punchies are due to me by the end of May, and will be returned to you the first of June. If you run into a problem, email me, and we can fix it, but get at this and get it out of your hair asap, you never know when real life will interrupt scrapping life! When you are ready to mail, email me for my home address. This way I know about when to expect your package.
