I did it! I finally bought wire!

I'm so excited! I've been wanting to try wire for a while now and I finally just went to my lss and bought some. It's sitting on my table right now.

I'm kinda nervous to use it. I bought some memory mount to attach it. One of the ppl at the lss recommended it. Is that stuff hard to use? I've never used a liquid glue in my scrapbook before.

I guess it's time to just get up and do it. Send good thoughts my way!

I, too, just bought some of the wire..we have been using it on cards (I go to "stamp camps" put on by my Stampin' Up consultant).. I haven't used it in a lo yet but on the cards we generally punch 2 tiny holes to run the wire through and I twist it off tight to the paper then curl it or whatever...not sure how that will work under a page protector... but I'm gonna see what happens....let me know how the glue works!!!

ok...I tried the glue. It's not working too well for me yet. I can't get the wire to stay down long enough for the glue to set. Do I have to hold they wire down for however long that will take?

I ended up using photo splits bc one end of each piece of wire is under my title.

What do you use to poke the holes with?

I bought one of those tiny hole punches but someone else on the board sounded like maybe you could use a needle to punch the holes so they would be less noticeble..I will ask my Stampin up consultant and try to let you know cuz I think she has used some kind of glue before...

I just got some wire this week too. I was so excited that I used it the day I bought it. I really need to get some wire tools now. They make working with the wire a lot easier, especially when you are trying to write with wire. I used it as my title for the page.

At the last meeting of my scrapping club one of the girls had done a layout using wire and metallic stars wrapped haphazardly over, around and through the letters of her title. She started and stopped on the back side of the letter, and as she wrapped and twisted, she added the stars. When she was finished, she mounted the title with pop dots to give it added dimension, and to leave that bit of room between the paper and wire so it wouldn't wear on the backing layout. It looked fabulous. My daughter did a similar thing with gold wire on a Christmas tree, and added tiny beads along the way for ornaments. Also looked good. So far, all I can do is use the jig to make decorative corners, and they are a pain to adhere! Nancy

Hmm...I didn't buy the jig (yet.) I'm still having a dickens of a time actually getting the wire to stick. I can't seem to get the hang of this glue! Will keep trying though.

I got pastel wire and I'm doing Easter 1983 pictures. I have six different los to complete with the same pictures. The wire is at least helping with that.

You might try the glue dots for securing your wire. They worked a lot better for me than liquid did.
