Sleep alone?

I was having a hard enough time sleeping because I'm pregnant and the baby is VERY active, but now it's even worse. If any of you have any advice I would really like to hear it. Thanks so much!

When my husband is away, I hold one of his old t-shirts and I sleep with QVC on the tv (volume turned down real low). I also have the dog to keep me company so it's not so bad for me. Still no fun, though. Sorry you're sleeping alone

My bf and I sleep tucked together like spoons, so it's very hard when he's not next to me. I usually take his pillow and turn it sideways, tucking it behind me...so it feels like he's there.
ESPN or ESPN2 is also great to fall asleep too.

My dh is a firefighter so his schedule is on for 24 hours and off for 48 hours. The nights that he is gone, I always sleep on his side of the bed with his pillow and night shirt under the pillow. It might seem silly, but that is just what I am use to doing. It will get easier as I have been doing this for almost 9 years and I am use to having the bed to myself every third night now. Jane

Thanks for all the help! If I'm lucky he won't have to work this shift anymore. I'm really dreading when he has to go to Mississippi for 5 weeks. Our little boy is so sweet though. He came in our room, noticed daddy was gone, crawled in bed, wrapped his little arms around me and gave me kisses. He helps a little, but I don't want him to get used to sleeping in my bed. Oh well, I'll manage. Thank you again for the help.

When my husband is away for work, (sometimes for a week) I also sleep on his side of the bed. I also have the kids sleep with me with the TV turned on really low. Sometimes I will spray some of his cologne on my PJs.

Where in Mississippi is your DH going? I'm from there originally and just curious.
I do what blondegirl does. I turn his pillow sideways and cuddle with that. Fortunately, my DH isn't gone to much with his new job, but he would have to be on-call in his last job. He would have to leave in the middle of the night to fix problems.

he has to go to buloxi (sp?) for computer training, as if he didn't know enough already. Oh well, I'll try your tips and if they don't work I'll call my mom (crying probably) and she'll talk to me until I feel better.

Aren't moms GREAT! When my husband has to go away for work, I spend A LOT of time on the phone with her.
When is your DH going to Mississippi? You are getting pretty close to the "BIG DAY" right? April?

He goes to Mississippi on the 10 of this month. He doesn't come home until the 13 of Feb. I'm due in April and he should be home by then. Even if he isn't, my mom is coming out to Japan for 2 or 3 weeks to see me.

It's Biloxi, but I knew where you meant. Is he going to Keesler? I grew up about 3 hours from the coast. It has changed a lot since the casinos came to town.
Glad to hear your mom will be coming. I wish your DH didn't have to be away at this special time for you.

Yup it's Keesler. That is the only place where the AirForce does training for computer geeks (GCCS = geeks). As if that wasn't bad enough we found out today that he is going to an undisclosed location in September for 3 months. I told him I was going home to my mom's house until he got to come back. The only reason I didn't go home to my mom this time was that they won't let me fly.

GCCS means Global Command Communications Squadron. Basically he is the guy who makes sure the network and everything computer is working.

My dh is gone a lot and I sleep BETTER when he's not here. I guess I'm used to it so all his noise and snoring and blanket hogging keep me up! I sleep kitty cornered on the bed too when he's gone! LOL Right now he's only home weekends until the kids and I move to be with him. Once we move he'll NEVER travel. I may have to get 2 twin beds. hee hee hee

I'm begining to see why they had seperate rooms and beds back in the day. My husband doesn't snore though and we solved the blanket hog problem by buying a huge blanket and when that didn't work we use seperate blankets (he's like a heater). He leave tomorrow and has at least 14 hrs. on the plane to look forward to. To top it off, I found out my mom is going on a cruise for 10 days. Oh well, I'm a big girl now, I'll make it.

Just post a lot and we'll all keep you company. It's not like a phone call to Mom but at least know we'll be here and be thinking about you. How many pages do you think you can get done while DH is gone?

I don't know, but quite a few. I've stopped scrapping the last couple of days to spend time with him. We've been cleaning up from the move still and he didn't want me to lift any heavy boxes. I was planning on going home to our family in the states, but they will let me fly out and not let me fly back. So i'd have to have this baby in that town again and the doctors there are not as good as they are here. Oh well. So far, I'll have the house almost totally done by the time he gets back and I might finally have all me pictures scrapped.
