Cuttlebug Alpha Dies

I just got a Cuttlebug and a set of alphabet dies. Each die has several letters on it. Really dumb question - will it hurt the machine if I only put paper over the letters I want to cut and not the entire die? I would hate to have so many extra letters .... I feel silly even asking this ... :-)

it won't hurt the die at all. I usually just punch the whole die and toss the extra letters into a bin for extra punches. Some people sort them by letter into a hardware drawer storage type thing. It's pretty handy if you like doing random letter titles. I have LOTS AND LOTS of alphas for my sizzix and like to mix and match letters and colors so for me, it works out well. FYI- J's has alpha sets for the cuttlebug CHEAP! I think like $20 or so? I can't remember exactly.... saw it there last weekend.

Yeah, I saw two Cuttlebug alphabets on clearance for $10 each at my local Joann's this weekend when I was checking out the Sizzix clearance. One was like buttons and the other was like... Olivia, or something? I don't Cuttlebug so the names didn't stick in my head.

Olivia is one of my faves. The clearance section at M's has Cuttlebug alphas sometimes too. Also, you CAN use your coupon on clearance items (at M's), as the clearance price becomes the item's permanent price. 3 different staff told me this was not the case, but when I get to the checkout, it always gives the dicount. Unless things have changed in the past 2 months. Good luck with the Cuttlebug!

I do it all the time! Great for using up your scraps!

I do both..it won't hurt the dies or the cutter pads so don't worry. I never thought about holding onto the other letters..i may just start that.
