Clear Stamp Question

I've been looking at these and was wondering how they work. I read that they are sticky and you peel them off the block to clean and store...

Is this adhesive reusable or does it wash off when cleaning them? Do you have to reapply to keep them sticky?

Yes, you slap them on an acrylic block and they stick, they are also "wash and wear". Most come with instructions on how to get the stickiness back if they stop adhering well.

You can also position them -- for instance -- you have a word phrase but you need it to curve a bit, you can do that.

Some that I have suggest you use a magazine or an old mouse pad under the paper you are stamping on since they do not have a foam cushion.

In my experience -- I prefer pigment ink as it is easier to clean off. You can emboss with pigment ink since it stays wet longer.

I have tried dye inks but don't get a good image and the dies are harder to clean since dye inks dry faster.

One of my friends was using Stazon however, after using that ink a few times and cleaning her stamps, her stamps shrivelled up from some ink ingredient chemical reaction to the acrylic stamps. I have also heard several other people mention this same problem so just beware that it is a possibility.

I don't have any clear stamps but have seen some awesome ones. I might have to go for gusto and get some now.

You cannot use any cleaner on the clear stamps that contain alcohol as the Stazon cleaner does. So beware of the ingredients on the bottles of cleaners that you buy.

I used happy birthday with a G clear stamp, then i outline it in fine gel pen..came out nice!

All of the stamps I've used so far have stayed sticky. You just peel them, put them on the clear block, and stamp away. I've been using dye ink with no problems. I just rinse the stamp with water when I'm done and I haven't had any staining problems.

I use my clear stamps with pigment ink and they work great. I stamp and then just rinse them in clean water and allow them to air dry. I've even left the pigment ink on them for a few days and then cleaned them up and it's not a problem. I've peeled one stamp off my block and put another over where there's ink on the block because I'm too lazy to clean it each time and they still stick. when I use my staz-on ink I clean it right away with the staz-on cleaner (heard it's not good for clear stamps but I don't ever pay more than $1 for them so it's no big if they don't hold up).

Clear stamps are AWESOME...i love all of mine, i use the cat eye inks on them and when i am done i wash them in clean water...sometimes days after i use them and they are fine!

hmmmmm gonna try the water trick. I always use cleaner.

I'm so excited! I just bought my first clear stamps! I got a block and a small alpha set and a flourish set!

After seeing them up close I see now how they are sooo much better at placing! I can see too that it's not so much an adhesive rather but rather more like a cling. Very cool!

I cannot wait to try them and am completely in love with them!

I haven't gotten anymore yet...I'm waiting till after Christmas.

After these, I can't see ever going back to buying rubber stamps!

hit up the m's and j's $1 bins! M's has some ADORABLE ones- I just need to find a storage system for them that works for me. been looking into different ideas- baseball card holders, pocket folio's that are expanding files, side open envelopes, etc. don't know what i'm going to settle on- any suggestions are welcome!
