writing straight

Hi hope everyone is ok, i am new to scrapbooking am throughly enjoyed it i am currently making scrapbooks for my two children. My question is how do you hand write in straight in lines i tried drawing lines in pencil and then rubbing them out but you could still see the lines, I also brought guidelines like you had at school but you could not see them through the paper please help. Thank you

I hold a piece of paper directly below where I'm going to write and use that as my guideline, that way I'm not putting pencil on the paper, if you have a letter that needs to go below the line then I just move the paper and put it back after. I hope that helps!

I have a diappearing ink pen for that... they have it here at sb.com... vanishing ink pen marker

You can use a light box. Put the guidelines directly on the light box and your paper on top of that. Works like a charm and is faster than drawing lines and erasing.

I use a ruler and versamark pen or versamark stamp pad will a line stamp..The ink will disappear.I love it...

Creative Memories makes something called Journaltopia. It's a tool to help you write in a straight line. It's like a ruler with many loops sticking out of one edge (the loops are made out of something plyable like fishing line). You use the loops as your edge and they easily move out of your way when your pen hits them. It works really well for me. It's hard to explain so I'd have to recommend going to their website and checking it out. It's only around $8 I think. I've tried the vanishing ink pen but the one I had didn't vanish well so I got rid of it. I try to draw lines when I can but I've noticed with some pattered paper the eraser leaves marks. I don't have trouble with good quality cardstock.

Okay I actually cheat... with the DCVW cardstock one side of it is actually straight lines so if I journal by hand I can actually use that... and if it goes crooked the I say to myself... "wow that adds character!"

I use the journaltopia by Creative Memories, too. It really works well to help write in straight lines!
