Hi Everyone -
Thanks for your patience as we continue to fix issues and roll out the new forum software.
We are aware of many of the issues and complaints and we are working our way through lots of things. Some of the issues have already been fixed and others are in the process of being fixed - and we're still watching and finding new issues too.

We thought it would be a good idea to get all of the continuing issues or problems posted into one thread. There will be questions we can't answer (or don't have answers for yet) and we know that it can be frustrating and disruptive to move to a new platform, but we are working on things and would appreciate you letting us know if you see additional problems.

Here are a few things that we are aware of and are actively working on fixes for:

NOTE: We are updating the explanations in the parenthesis as we go...

Weird characters getting inserted into posts like "ÃÃÂ¢" (Fixed)
Topics refreshing mid-post, deleting your message before you post it (Fixed. Still having this issue? Please let us know!)
Some users getting a "Blocked" message sporadically when posting (Fixed. Still having issues? Please let us know!)
Not getting notifications via email or on the site for posts you are following or DMs
Concerns about DMs being limited to one person (Brainstorming this issue and possible solutions)
Concerns with only Papercrafting topics showing up on the front page of Conversations. (Fixed - challenges and swaps now show... If you are interested in tracking/following a post from "Other" you can add it to your "Fvorite Topics" list)
Problems with favoriting posts and confusion around favoriting topics (Fixed and enhanced!)
Concerns about navigation in general (Fixed. Much improved and enhanced on phone and desktop views)

Thanks for this very clarifying and helpful post.
Loving the new platform so far.
I think you did a great job migrating almost all the topics and, in a change of this magnitude, bumps along the road are to be expected.
The problems I, personally, still have are:
Randomly getting blocked.
Randomly getting a "Cannot Double Post" message when trying to post/reply in a thread, even when I had never posted anything since the switch.
Not being able to post a layout to a challenge thread using the affiliate link.
Things I think would be nice to have back (kind of my Wish List, lol!):
The Preview option when posting.
The possibility of posting more than one layout/image at a time
Messaging members we don't follow.

Love the new emojis!!!

I've been getting the "cannot double post" words and I don't know why, also
I miss the Preview option when posting.

Thanks for making the switchover as smooth as possible! The one thing that I would love to see if possible is to have an icon or something next to the threads/topics that have new posts within them (not a whole new topic itself) since I was last on the site. It is nice to see that instead of having to click on each topic I follow to see if anything new has been posted.

I have also had the "can not double post" message.

I would love the ability to message privately a group of ladies. Would be wonderful if you could bring it back.

I know it is difficult working out all the quirks when coming up with a new platform. My biggest peeve is that the Public Comments page has been removed. It makes me feel isolated now from all my scrapping friends. I don't have time all the time to send a direct message to thank someone for their support in my gallery and sometimes when I was short of time, I would post a message through the Public Comments page to express my thanks. I also try to do that every time I post something in my gallery but it isn't quite the same thing.

This isn't an issue but it is a complaint: I am terrible with names and so I used to rely on the signature to tell me who people were, especially if their "handle" was something not very closely related to their name. Really miss that feature. Would it be possible to bring it back? Even if it's only limited to a couple of lines, it would let us know names and at least one thing that person thought was important about herself. Thanks for listening.

I believe you can do this. Up at the top of a thread, underneath the title, there are up and down arrows. Click on the arrows to change the order in which you see posts, first post vs last.

I would like to be able to have a group (more than one person) in my new "Direct Messages". Not a fan of only be able to have a private message with just one person. There are many times we have a private swap so as not to hurt any feelings by having in it the open swap.

I also agree about wanting the signature option back. I too have a hard time remembering names and that really helped.

I also miss when someone is sending me a "Direct Message" knowing that it's there. You use to add a number next to Private Message on our profile page letting us know that we had a message or two. I understand I can have it sent to my email, but it would be nice to see if I have a post when I come to this site. I don't always check my email daily.

I noticed someone mentioning a wish list. Did you get rid of the wish list? I sure hope not. We use those items for buying goodies for our friends. Especially the Christmas swaps each year which is coming up.

Thank you for putting this thread together. Having one place to be able to express our wants and needs is wonderful.

Is there away to do a mass unfollowing?
Though I appreciate having "friends" I don't necessarily want to "follow" everyone.

Since all of my "friends" are now on my "I'm following" list... I would like to just wipe out the entire list and start fresh.
Is that an option?

I do that, but if there are multiple new posts, it means scrolling down to the oldest of the new, scrolling down while reading that post, then scrolling up to get to the second-oldest new post, then scrolling down while reading that...etc., etc.. If there are several new posts, it's just a lot of scrolling up and down. Or maybe I'm just doing it all wrong. :>)

My biggest disappointment is the order of the posts. I have the arrow set so that the newest posts show first in a thread, but if there are multiple postings since I last visited the thread, it means scrolling down to get to the oldest of the new, scrolling down while reading it, then scrolling up to get to the 2nd oldest of the new, scrolling down to read it...repeat, repeat....
I also miss the signatures. I also liked when people would list their goals and those goals they had met.
I miss having the date and time of the posts, as well as how many posts a person has made. It sometimes makes a difference in a reply, knowing whether they are a newbie or a long-time member.
I miss not having group private messages.
I'm sad that my most-viewed threads weren't brought over, even though they were active, but I'm assuming they were probably too big. People can start over, but I'm sad that the old posts are poof. Some threads that I started, but hadn't been active for years were brought over, but not the one that I chatted in several times daily. Some of the people have left and I don't see that they have come back to restart their threads.

Hi Everyone -
We wanted to post an update and let you know that we are still watching this thread closely and we're busily working on several fixes etc. Thanks so much for your feedback.

We anticipate making a few changes by tomorrow afternoon and then others throughout the next week as well. These include some changes to help with navigation on phones and computers, bug fixes, feature enhancements etc. We're addressing several things listed in the original post at the top of this topic and also some additional things that have been brought up by you as well.

We'd recommend that everyone make sure you've read the FAQs here to get familiar with how the new platform works (if you haven't already):

There is a chance that something you're missing is still possible in the new platform, but it just is done differently.

Copy the link from your gallery.
Open a reply box in the thread you're trying to post to.
Click on the 3rd icon from the left ( looks like a piece of paper with an arrow) and a url link box will appear.
Paste your link and click "ok" and it will display.
Then submit your post.

I've just tried to send a direct message to a member and after clicking on "Add" I got a "No Participants" message, even though the recipient is right.
Any ideas on what may be happening?

They have to be a follower of yours. Go to their page and I think in top right is a follow box click that and then it will send.

HOW did I wake up to over 50 emails? Almost all from forums I'm not even a part of? Haven't even visited!

EDIT: I found out how! My forum notifications for "All Forums & Topics" was changed to "Email Every Post." Yes, changed, and not by me! 1) I just found where to change it back and 2) I think I would have noticed before now.

Thanks to those who noted this. I'll be more specific. I like to have the newest posts at the bottom because that keeps the list of responses in order and if there's a conversation going it makes more sense to read top to bottom. But when I click on the page I go to the first post and for a long post (like the year-long challenge) which is 12 pages long, it is an extra step to go to the last page. I did figure out that the new posts have a pink "new" box on them so now I can scroll until I find the first of them and read along. But if you could put the page numbers on the thread list I could maybe go to the last page directly?

Is it a bug, or is it intentional that I have to log in to my account to read anything apart from the home page of the forums? If it's intentional, it's an ass pain. If it's a bug, please fix it.

Bug: When I tried to insert a hyperlink via the Hyperlink button only the non-clickable address posted. In my reply box it look like I expected (blue, underlined words), but after posting, it was just a plain text address.

I had the same problem.
And then I went on my phone and I saw the blue hyperlink.
Then I came back here...and saw the blue hyperlink.
Coincidence?

When you log in and choose "more" then "forums/conversations" then it takes you to latest activity-shouldn't they all have the word "new" next to them if they are "Latest Activity"??? -I go right to "browse Categories" and then choose where I want to go...but even there "new" is not always there to know if there is new activity...Anyone have ideas on this????? Thanks!

I agree Marci! It seems only the brand new threads have "new" next to them - not if there is new activity in a thread. I find that very inconvenient! I would love it if would says which ones had new activity when I log in and when I click on them if it takes me to the first post that I haven't read like the old one did.

The hyperlink can only be used with scrapbook.com address. Other web address won't hyperlink and it just post their website. Which then you have to highlight and right click to hit "openaddress in new tab". Hope that helps

I don't see where I can delete a conversation in my direct message that someone else sent. I can only delete a message that I sent. Does anyone know if there's a way to delete a subject that was sent by another person.

Yes, that's something I miss. What I do is to look at the last column "Activity" which shows the time from the last post. As I usually remember when I checked for the last time that helps me.

About the "Cannot Double Post", VERY HELPFUL tip from Amanda.
When you get this immediately click on the "Add" button, at the bottom, and it goes through.
I've already tried it four times. Worked for me so, hopefully, will work for everybody.

Go to the very first post in that forum...
The red heart at the bottom right of that post is probably red.
If so, click on the heart...to make it not red... and it will be removed from your favorites.

Just "unclick" the red favorites heart at the top right of the topic. Yes, it has moved to the top!

I didn't even see that GIANT heart at the top.
I've been favoriting posts w/ the tiny heart at the bottom of the first post of each thread.

Either way, click on the Red Heart, where EVER it is for you, bahahahaha!
