Welcome, come on in and sit a spell! The Café is a warm welcoming place for dear old friends, and sparkly new ones, to gather and keep in touch. My name is Dawna and I'll be your hostess. Please feel free to introduce yourself, pour a cup of coffee or whip up your favorite latte, pull up a chair and join in the conversation!

    Rules:
    1. Please be kind, courteous and respectful towards others.
    2. See rule 1.

    All are welcome!
  • Dawna.s Place
Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to the new Café! If your coming from the old Café, your in the right spot! Remember to "Favorite" this new thread so you can easily find it again.
  • Kristine W
Found the new cafe! It's 15 degrees here right now. Can I order a peppermint hot chocolate? wink emoji I'm heading to Michaels to pick up some brads so I can finish my mini album.
  • Dawna.s Place
Burrrr @Kristine W One peppermint hot coco coming up! Which G45 collection did you use to make your latest mini?
  • Erin Perry
Yesterday I got all my RB goodies organized in some new drawers. If you need to place a RB order I am sure I could fill it! Those stackable are now getting quite high! I had to move some stuff out and put it in another tub to deal with later. I still had three boxes of Christmas on my floor. I was going to go through it and purge what I don't want or won't use but here it is mid February and that has not happened and I have other things to deal with so I just packed them back up into my closet and I can now see more floor! My work table is clear at the moment too. Still need to do a complete overhaul but that will have to wait. Today is a no craft day as I have PT and need to run to the bank, grocery and post office. Also pulling out all my paperwork and getting started on my taxes. I HATE that chore but the sooner I can get it off my desk the better. I have run into an issue on my dad's estate return which I hope won't be a problem. They delayed 9 months in getting my refund and I claimed the $25 of interest they said in their letter they were giving me, but since it drug on so long I ended up with $65 in interest. The thought of having to deal with this $40 amount because of their negligence ticks me off. And I am in the process of changing CPA's since I thought the estate was DONE! Oh well, hopefully it won't be a big deal. The thought of a new CPA amending the last return fills me with dread. The new guy found out in reviewing our taxes from last year that the CPA claimed $3,000 in self employment taxes for the fee I took as executor - this is not subject to self employment taxes! Only way to get anything back is to do an amended return. No thanks! Water under the bridge and we are just moving on.
  • Scrappygal50
I posted on the other thread. I didn't see the new one.
  • Kristine W
Dawna, it's not a G45 collection. This one is for FotoBella so I'm using the Simple Vintage Coastal papers. Once it's finished, I'll move on to my next G45 project!

Sounds like you've been busy, Erin!
  • LauralsAttic
Found ya! Thanks for the link!
  • Njr007
    Good morning!

I'm going to try to follow along this year. I am finding I have more free time and want to spend more time in my scrap room and on the threads.

To all the people who don't know me - my name is Norma. I have been on sb.com for over 10 years and hosted the Cricut challenge for many years and was very active on the threads before taking a break. I never stopped creating but found it difficult to join/keep up with the threads so I have only been on periodically for the last couple years, mostly doing swaps as it pushes me to interact and during NSD as that is MY weekend and everyone in my family knows I will be at my scrap table.

Dawna thank you for always reaching out and making me feel welcomed.

    Norma
  • Debbie.K
Hi Norma, the nice thing about this thread is that you can come and go whenever you want. You don't need to do a daily check in. But of course if you're gone to long, we will worry if you're ok.

Dawna, it's a good thing you added this link to the last cafe site cause I couldn't find it anywhere under 'other'. I'll check again cause I just woke up and haven't started my first cup of coffee yet so my brain hasn't kick started yet.

I have broken out with hives and lord are they driving me nuts. I have no idea what I did or came in contact with cause I don't change things up. My son has had major allergy's all his life so I don't use detergents with smells. I guess it could be stress. I've been feeling extremely stressed out lately. Can stress cause hives. If anyone has a magical cure to stop the itching it would be appreciated. Right now I've just been using cortisone cream and taking Benadryl. Not helping.
  • Debbie.K
Dawna, I just saw the problem. You have this thread under papercrafting instead of other. I'm not sure if you can go back to the original post you made and edit it to let people know that this new thread is under papercrafting, not Other. See, all it takes is a sip of coffee to get my brain thinking again.
  • Dawna.s Place
Debbie I'm so sorry for the confusion! My bad! Unfortunately because I officially closed the thread, I can't edit the post directing folks to "Other." However, the link is correct, so hopefully everyone is finding us okay. When I opened the new thread I did put it under "Other." But, realized afterward that we would never show up in the Trending View in the Forum threads! Oops! As I recall, people had a terrible time finding us under "Other," so last year I set us up under "Papercrafting" and that solved the problem. So I switched the new thread back to the "Papercrafting" category. We post often enough that we will show up in the "Forum" trending view now, and within a few days the old café will fall off the list. I'm sure it will become a non-issue within a few days. The good news is, YOU FOUND US! YAY!!! I'm so sorry to hear about the hives, have you tried Calidryl Lotion for the itches? I use that in combination with X-Strength Benadryl and that usually works for me. I do think stress can cause skin rashes.
  • Njr007
Debbie check with Donna McK to see what she used. She had a bad case of the itchies/rash/hives for 6 plus months and tried a variety of things before her doctor finally gave her something that helped.

We have a beautiful day here in Texas and I am so tempted to do yard work (in dire need of a clean up). But my arm is still killing me from the Shingles vaccine I got on Friday and I don't want to aggravate it. I still have a red hot spot 3 inches wide where I got the shot and it hurts like heck to raise my arm so raking and pulling weeds may not be a smart idea. I'll puddle around in my scrap room instead ) emoji

Good Morning and Happy Day to All of You!

Norma thank you, you're so sweet. It will be so nice to have you as a regular! Feel free to come and go as you please, we'll be here for you! When is NSD? I know it's National Crafting Month, so it's probably this month sometime. Oh BTW, what Cricut are you using these days? Wow, sorry to hear about your shot, ouch!

Barbara I read yesterday that you were feeling better, that's so good to hear. It's sure has taken a while for your tailbone to heal. So glad your on the mend, finely! What project are you planning to work on with your Cricut.

Kristine I appreciate your help yesterday, I didn't know how to close a thread. I'm so glad to find that you can edit the header. We didn't use to be able to do that. Can't wait to see your FottaBella mini! I hope you're staying safe and warm today!

Erin what a day! I got tired, just reading about it! lol Are you all set for your class? I haven't heard from my card class teachers about next months class yet. I sure hope they lift the mask mandate sometime soon. Then we can get back to class!

Laura welcome, so glad you found us! Please remember to favorite the thread so you can find us again.

So my SIL is back on her feet and home now. She's doing much better as she's eating properly again. It's a good thing, as I really needed the break. We see her Oncologist today, then Friday a video call with her Radiation Oncologist. We'll find out Friday when her treatment begins. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed last night and had a bit of a melt down. I'm feeling much better this morning.

I'm really looking forward to Sunday as Vicki and I set up a play date! Yay, I need that! We always have a lot of fun. I'm hoping to purge some papers for her this week. I think Sparky's LO is done. I'll take pics and post it later. Kept it on the simple side, but its fun and he's so itty bitty in his photo, only 2 months old. He maybe a rascal, but he's a cutie! Time for more coffee, enjoy your day!
  • Erin Perry
I am still working on the card samples for my class and also need one more design. I ordered some really cute black/white/yellow gnome and bee papers for that last card. But, I am really liking Kelly's hat easel card so I may skip the gnome papers and get some more paper to work with the hat pattern. Then I could cut the pieces for them for that card only and we could do that one first day of class since we won't have as much class time by the time we go over class rules, introductions, etc.

I heard from my friend that I made the Day of the Dead shadowbox for yesterday. She waited until her actual birthday to open it and she was thrilled with it. Her husband was convinced that I bought it. She knew the amount of research and thought went into it and so I was pleased. She was being ignored by her daughter (YET AGAIN) so was feeling a bit down so was glad she saved the gift until her actual birthday.

I have placed a big order with Renea using my birthday gift cards so I should really be set for a number of months! Now it is back to taxes. Sure would love to finish them today and deliver it all to the CPA on Thursday.
  • Kelly.R
    Hi Everyone!

I finally found the new thread. Yay!

Norma so glad to see you. So sorry about your arm. Hope it gets better.

Erin, looking forward to your package. I'm so glad you liked the hat easel card. It really was easy to make. I used this YT tutorial video to make it.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bfQ4UXW1Qw

I didn't have a die for the outer part of the easel so I had to use my MS circle cutter. I think it like 5 1/2.

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day yesterday. We decided to wait until tomorrow to do ours. I'm going to make one more layout using the Mintay City of Love papers. I need one more photo for that, which I will get tomorrow. Today I'm working on a gift project. I need to make a birthday card also for my mom. That should keep me plenty busy today.

Dawna, so glad you SIL is better. NSD is the first weekend in May, but SB opened up for posting the 2nd week of April last year.

Deb, sorry to hear about the hives. They are the worst. Hope you get better.

    Have a great day!

    ) emoji Kelly

  • Scrappygal50
Good afternoon! I am doing some cleaning today. I got behind because I felt so bad.

Dawna, the tailbone is taking its time to heal. They say a bruised bone hurts more than a broken bone and takes longer to heal. I have a chipboard heart box I have been covering with paper. Still working on the sides and top.

Deb, sorry to hear about your hives. I don't know if stress causes them.

Erin, sounds like you had quite a shopping spree.

Norma, when I got my shingles vaccine they told me movement was good for it. The first shot I didn't know to move it, and it hurt. The second shot I used my arm a lot more and it hardly hurt at all.

    Have a nice day!
  • Erin Perry
Thank you for the link to the hat tutorial - I was going to ask you about that!

  • Debbie.K
Morning ladies. Heading to the dermatologist today to see about these hives. I've been racking my head trying to figure out what I might have done to cause them. I'm hoping she's able to give me something for all the itching. Cortisone and Benadryl are not working. I want so bad to claw at my back and chest but everything I've read says not to do that. Easy for the writer to say that when they're not the ones itching. LOL

Sun is shining and we're back in the 40's again. Everything has melted and I don't have a fear of slipping on ice if I go out so it's a good day.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • SandyJay
Hello, all! My name is Sandy. I have been reading but staying quiet. (Not like me!). I am getting back to scrapbooking since I retired early. I was an ICU RN, got too hard on the body, so I went into teaching clinicals in the hospital.

At any rate, looking again at what people post in the gallery, it really hit me why I (we) do this. Memories, obviously. But also a tribute to things we love, we care about. Someday, I know my kids will treasure their heavy scrapbooks. Another reason, it can pay tribute to those gone before us. We can say what we wish we would have said, or reaffirm what we did. It is therapy to help us in healing, making us smile and giving us pride. It is a labor or of love. We are story tellers, and it is so nice to know who we were, who they were, the friends, pets and yes, pandemic, that affected our lives. As far as I am concerned, there isn't a more BEAUTIFUL HISTORY BOOK than a SCRAPBOOK! So my hats off to all of you for creating such masterpieces!! Congratulations, scrap on!!
  • Dawna.s Place
    Good Morning,

Debbie I'm so glad you were able to get in to the dermatologist quickly. I do hope he can give you some effective treatment for those itches.

Welcome Sandy, we have some wonderfully creative ladies that chat here. Please feel free to join in the conversation regularly so we can get to know you better. We're a pretty friendly bunch around here and we love meeting new people. For me, I love creating, it brings me so much satisfaction and joy. How long have you been scrapping? Are you enjoying retirement? It does take some time to readjust from the hustle and bustle of a busy work life. I had to retire back in 2005, following an accident. But, I sure love not having to work anymore. I was a contracts manager in aerospace for over 30 years, before retiring.

OMG it RAINED yesterday!!! And, I do mean RAINED. It sounded like we got 4-6" in about 30 minutes, it was a serious downpour. Thank goodness, we really needed it. Well I'm going to call Sparky's lo done. I'll hopefully get pics later this morning and post later. Going to meet my friend for lunch today. It will be nice to catch up. Enjoy the day everyone!
  • Kaye222
Yes stress can cause hives. Did you get a shingles shot? I hope that is not it.
  • Kaye222
    Good morning,
Found you…Dawna the rain is here today….my Frankie foot told me it was coming yesterday.
I think tomorrow going to the Midwest, but as another snow storm
I'm supposed to have lunch with my friend today….I hope it doesn't rain or guess we are sitting inside.
I have been planning to craft..but I can't seem to find the time even though I'm out of school. Maybe Friday? Need to go to post office too.
    Have a great day
    Lisa

  • Kristine W
Debbie, your dermatologist should be able to prescribe you a prescription strength antihistamine to help stop the itching. It really helps where Benadryl falls short. She might also offer you a steroid injection or a medal-dose pack to help the hives go away. I've unfortunately had a lot of experience with hives due to allergic reactions over the years. The only thing that helps mine go away is the steroid injection. There are also prescription strength creams that you can use, but they can be costly and take longer to work. At any rate, I hope she helps give you some relief at your appointment today.

Hi Sandy. Nice to meet you! I think most newcomers are quiet at first when they find us at the cafe or in the swaps. Don't be shy. I hope you will join in the conversation, and like Dawna said, let everyone get to know you better.
  • Debbie.K
Well, turns out it is not hives. It's shingles and no I didn't get my shingles shot cause I heard such horrible things about it. Both my brother and friend got horribly sick from it and so I decided that I wasn't likely to get shingles so I opted out of the shot. Famous last words. I had an extremely stressful day a few days ago and the next day I had what I thought was hives. I really need to get my stress under control. I got meds so we'll see how it goes. I already want to tear off my skin.

Sandy, very nice to meet you. Hope to see lots more of you.
  • Njr007
oh Debbie I am so sorry to hear that!

The Shingles vaccine has been kicking my butt since Friday and I was complaining to my daughter just yesterday and she told me the vaccine side effects were nothing compared to a case of shingles. She got it at 22 while at college and unfortunately she says she still gets phantom pains that come out of nowhere that is apparently connected to having had shingles-so weird

I've been in my room all day and have created - nothing. just not feeling it today
  • Jess E
hey all.... haven't been around, because I've been totally absent of any mojo for crafting. I rec Norma's beautiful tag and embellishments for Laura's swap. We're in a warm up thankfully, and it would be nice if spring started early, but we're always in for a good big storm or two in march.
  • Scrappygal50
Evening all! I didn't get any scrapping done today but hopefully tomorrow.

Welcome Sandy! I hope you enjoy it here.

.Deb, I hope you feel better soon. I had shingles twice before I got the vaccine. I got it because the second time it was too close to my eye. I was lucky.

Kaye, I hope you had a wonderful lunch!

  • Pierced_scrapper

For Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I went to a Sweetheart Skate at a local ice skating rink. They gave us roses and only one survived, barely. I'm thinking about using the petals on a layout. Has anyone ever done anything like that? Any advice?

The rose he gave me is alive and well, I'm going to preserve it and put it in a shadowbox. It was our first Valentine's Day together.

  • Kaye222
Oh no….that was my diagnosis….I mentioned the shingles shot before you went to the dr…I'm so sorry! Hang in there. It can be painful….I hope it will not be for you 💗
  • Kaye222
    Hi
Had a great lunch with my friend….lots of hours…ate too much too….we spent 5 hours together with a bit of shopping. Amazing how time can fly….the lady in bath and body thought we were sisters bc we argue out loud. In a fun way of course….but this is not the first time we have heard it…..lol….she is a blond and I'm a brunette…best of friends. 💗
    Have to work tomorrow blah!
    Craft day for sure Friday!

  • Vivian Lake
Hey everyone! I usually lurk in the background absorbing everyone's thoughts. It's nice to read about your lives, although I'm not much for sharing myself. For those that know, my son gets his MRI next week on his knee, so after that we will know about surgery. Sigh.
This week has been a struggle with my parents. My dad goes twice a week to a Memory "Daycare" Place called Encore because he has dementia. At first, he was really skeptical and didn't want to be around a "bunch of old" people. He's 70. eyeroll emoji
Now this place is kind of out the way for my mother, so she found a way to get him a ride to Encore. But this past two weeks the "driver" has been completely dropping the ball and practically stranding my dad at the center. I told my mom we will figure it out, but since I was closer that I could pick him up if needed. Well that happened again Tuesday. It was a LONG day. I picked my dad up and got him home so my mom didn't have to spend over an hour trying to get him during rush hour. I don't want my dad feeling abandoned after a good day at Encore. He loves going (cause they have little parties) but none of us need the stress of how to get him home.
There are plenty of options, we just need to figure out the best one for our family.
  • Jess E
Vivian, that sounds so scary for him, and that's too bad the driver can't be more responisbile. Be sure to check with your local office for the aging, and any Veteran's transportation if he is a veteran. Good luck! Hope you can find him reliable transportation.

Deb, sorry you've got shingles now too ( emoji
  • Dawna.s Place
Good Morning, Coffee's on! Anyone for a cup?

Debbie I'm so sorry that you've got the shingles. Did they give you a shot like Kristine recommended? I hope the prescription helps with the itchies. So sorry you've got to deal with this. That's the pit's. I think at my next Dr. apt, I'll get the vaccine.

Kristine how's your FottaBella project coming along? I can't wait to see it!

Normal I spent the afternoon organizing some things in my craftroom. Productive, but didn't work on any projects either. I've been "slowly" going through my baskets of paper to do some purging. Gosh, that's a chore. Today it's on to alpha's.

Lisa I'm so sorry that Frankie Foot aches when the barometer goes up. My SIL's knees do the same thing. So weird. I hope your foot feels better today. So glad to hear that you had a great time with your friend, yes, time does fly! I had a great time catching up with my friend yesterday too.

Barbara I can't believe you didn't get the shingles shot after the first bout! Your one lucky lady! What are you working on next? I thought you mentioned a Cricut project earlier.

Jess nice to see you! Glad it's warming up your way. I'm sure your anxious to get started on your spring gardening. What are you planning to plant this year? I need to get some food for my roses. DH trimmed them back before the rain, so its time to feed them again.

Jessica you've been missed! So glad to hear you had a sweet and romantic Valentine's Day with your new boyfriend. Have you been working on your Happiness Box at all?

Vivian so nice to see you! I hope you are able to get your dad['s transportation figured out soon. Please don't be a stranger!

I made a trip to HL yesterday and found some lovely flowers for Sparky's lo. I thought I was done, but just not happy with it yet. Hopefully the flowers will do the trick. I ordered some nice dividers to keep my paper sorted out nicely and they should be here today. I purged a nice stack of papers over the past few days. Hoping to consolidate my baskets from 6 down to 5. It's not much, but it's something! I also ordered a 3 shelf unit to put my Cricut and Empress on, I'm a bit shy of table top space for all my cutting machines now that I have a new Cricut. Time for more coffee, have a great day!
  • Debbie.K
Barb, you got shingles twice? I read that once you get shingles you don't usually get it again but obviously that's not accurate. Guess I'll be getting the vaccine when this clears up cause I don't want to do this again. I am so lucky, (knock on wood) that it's not on my face. It's on my chest and back. I can't reach the part of my back that it's on to scratch it so I guess that's a good thing. For some odd reason, lathering the area with Vaseline seems to sooth the itch. No idea why but I'll be needing more Vaseline soon.

Vivian, have you checked to see what options you have in your community. My mom can not get in and out of the house without a lot of help so it's really hard to get her to and from a doctor. We found a place in our community that is free and they will pick them up and bring them home. It's a life saver. My prayers are with you. I hope you're able to find the help you need.

Dawna, they didn't offer me any shot. angry emoji She did say to call my primary doctor and she may be able to give me pain pills to help with the pain but I'm already taking Tramadol for my knee pain so I'm hoping that'll help. It's this dang itching that's driving me nuts. If it would just stop I could handle what feel like a bunch of bee stings.

It's a rainy day today so it's a good day to do nothing.
  • Kelly.R
    Hello Everyone!

Deb, I am so sorry about your shingles. How miserable. Have you tried the pink Calamine lotion. I remember my mother slathering me with it when I had the chicken pox. It helped.

DH and I went out for dinner yesterday for our Valentine's. Had a very good evening. I got the photo I wanted, so going to work on that this afternoon. Once I get that done, then I can start on the Christmas layouts from December. I have 3 to make. I plan to use the BF Yuletide papers.

We had a cold front blow in last night. Got a whole 5 seconds of rain before it blew over. We had gusts up to 45mph. Just left the cold and wind behind. It's 38 degrees right now. Yuck!

Hi Sandy! So glad to have you join.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    ) emoji Kelly

  • Kristine W
Debbie, you might want to call your primary care doctor and see if they would be willing to write you a prescription for Atarax (Hydroxyzine). It's a lot stronger than Benadryl and will likely help you. The only downside is that it's very sedating so you'll likely need to take a nap a few hours after taking it! I hope you start to feel relief soon!

I have my appointment with the spine specialist tomorrow morning to determine whether he wants to do injections or surgery to fix my back.

Dawna, just finished the Simple Vintage Coastal mini album I have been working on for FotoBella. It won't be posted for a few weeks, probably, since she will post my other projects first. Now I will be starting on my next G45 project.
  • Scrappygal50
Good afternoon! Its a very nice day here today. I don't know the temp, but I know I am not freezing, and that is always good!

Dawna, I was in my 30's the first time I got shingles. No one even mentioned a shingles vaccine until I got it a few years ago. Yes I am working on a heart box. A lot of gluing and then waiting for it to dry. Oh my gosh, good for you on the purging! I have a hard time with that.

Vivian, if the driver is from a company I would report him. We don't need people like that taking care of our seniors!

Deb, yep, twice. But I was in my 30's the first time. I went to the emergency room the second time, and the nurse called a few days later asking how I was feeling. I had to tell her I had the chicken pox again, along with the shingles. I had pox popping out everywhere, but they didn't last that long. They did have me on a very high dose of steroids and some other drug I dont remember the name of right now. The vaccine had better work because I never ever want them again!

    Waving to Kelly and Kristine.
  • Jess E
Deb, you can definitely get shingles more than once, unfortunately. it's esp dangerous if around the eyes, as the dendrites can cause perrmanent blindness. We have patients in our eye clinic that have suffered with blindness, which is the pits. Also, it's not unusual to need nerve pain medication like gabapentin to help with the pain. Don't suffer indefinitely with pain if you have it for weeks. Actually am surprised you weren't put it on it to begin with, with an antiviral, so be sure to keep in touch with your PCP! When i was working in pain management, we had people being treated long term for post-herpetic pain syndrome, which is definitely not pleasant. Hoping it goes away quickly for you.
  • SandyJay
Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone!
I am so sorry that you all have had shingles, thank you for sharing your experiences.

Deb, I hope you are feeling better - soon!!

Jess, good suggestion, and I have been going back and forth on the shingles vaccine. Once I get past this long-Covid/bronchitis or whatever it is I will get it.

Welcome pierced scrapper. The experience I have had with roses it they just get dark. There is a way to preserve them, but I believe it is quite involved. Hopefully you took a picture?

Kaye, glad you got together with your friend again and caught up!

Kristine, I hope;your appointment offers some solutions. I am sorry you are in such pain and discomfort.

Vivian, I hope to hear you got your father's situation figured out, let us know.

I have no complaints this evening! Life is good and I am blessed. (I could go for getting over this respiratory thing). I went out to ride my horse, only the 3rd time in 4 weeks!!! he was frisky and fun and wanted to run. He made me laugh and forget about life. My therapist in a barn.

Sending you all well-wishes and smiles!

  • Vivian Lake
Shingles are no joke. I read medical charts for a living and it's definitely a nasty one.

Thanks ladies, for all the support with my dad. There are actually lots of options for transportation in my area, but I'm not the primary caregiver, my mom is. She set this up with something really cheap and it was working great, until last week. It turned into the "crisis" of the day on Tuesday. The drivers are DSL but really only know about 4 words in English. Not really a good situation when working with dementia patients. I've already found several more options but my mom just breaks down in tears thinking about it all. We are going to tackle this problem tomorrow.

Life is good, but my plate is rather full. I fall asleep so early in the evenings now, and am wide awake by 5 a.m. It might be a winter thing.

Sandy...glad to see you love horses. I do too, but cannot ride. I tried taking lessons once, but it didn't work out and now my hips and knees be like . . . "what do you think you're doing?" I know lots of horse lovers and they ALL look extremely happy when they are with their beloved horse and riding. Even more so than dog lovers, if you can believe it.

    Good Morning!

I spent yesterday purging more goodies from my craftroom. I'm done with my papers. I bought some 12x12 album dividers, so now I can sort and label my papers by manufacture. It will be nice to easily find what I'm looking for. Today I'm purging my alpha drawers. Time permitting, I'll sort out my bling too. How did things get so messy in my closet? Oh yeah, I did that! lol BTW, thank you all for the sugar on my Valentine Tag and Roses.

Debbie I hope your starting to feel a bit better. Glad to hear the Vaseline is soothing. After all this shingles talk, DH and I are both getting the shot at our next physical.

Barbara it sounds like you were very lucky, especially after what Jess shared! Yikes. How's your heart box coming along? I've decided that my next Cricut project is going to be the Effie Tower in 3D format. I'm looking for ward to that.

Vivian do you live near your mom? She sounds so overwhelmed at just the though of changing things up. I hope you can help her work through it.

Sandy what a blessing to own a horse. My daughter would give anything to have one and some property to ride it around. Maybe one day. They are so big and powerful, the few times I've ridden it kind of scared me. And, like any animal, that's not good, so I keep my feet on the ground.

Kelly it sounds like you had a great Valentine's day celebration. Loved your lo!

Kristine your FotoBella Candles came out so gorgeous! Loved your lo also!

    Wishing everyone a happy day!

Kristine, thanks so much for your advice. I don't know why I didn't think of Atarax. I had suggested to a friend with horrible itching problems to ask her doctor to give her Aterax and then I completely forgot about it. Where does my mind disappear to. I just sent them a message so hopefully they'll do something soon. I don't mind that it'll knock me out for a bit cause the Benadryl does the same thing to me.

Jess, thanks for the advice also. She did offer me gabapentin but I declined it. There's a story there that I won't go into but the stuff freaks me out. I may consider Lyrica if the pain worsens but I'll see what I can handle first. I'm on day five so I'm guessing the worst is yet to come. pensive emoji I keep praying that it doesn't end up on my face. I've got a couple red bumps on my cheek but they're not itching but I'm keeping a close eye out on those.

Sandy, definitely get the shingle vaccine. I am now kicking myself for not getting it. I will be getting it after this bout clears up.

Vivian, your mother sounds like she is overwhelmed. I feel for her.

    Happy Saturday Everyone!

Well I had good intentions to do some more cleaning and labeling in my craft room, but my label maker ran out of tape! It's always something. I wound up cutting a small version of the Effie Tower just to see how the pattern worked. Now I'm ready to do the large one today. I've got a craft and chat zoom meeting tonight, then a play date tomorrow with Vickie. It's shaping up to be a crafty weekend for me. I got a few new Stamperia molds in this week, going to do a pour today. I'm loving how large these pieces are going to be. Can't wait to see the finished pieces. What's on everyone else's agenda this weekend?

Today is a no craft day except maybe some on line shopping to get some embellishments for tea cups, a clock and a vignette! I have been cooking all morning for my friend who had surgery last Monday. She is now starting to eat more regular food so she gave me a list! I will be delivering meatloaf, mac and cheese, glazed carrots, ham quiche, and a fruit salad with vanilla dressing. And I am giving her the dress form card I made yesterday. Tomorrow I hope to spend all day working on something! I have three March birthdays that I would like to do something crafty for instead of just a card. We shall see. I have so many different projects spinning in my head that I can't stay focused. SQUIRREL!!!

Kristine - how did your doctor's appointment go?

Sounds like another busy day for you, Erin! My visit with the spine specialist went as expected - I'm scheduled for surgery March 7. Looking forward to it and getting back to normal! It's been too long!

Dawna, what will you be making with your new Stamperia moulds? I'm working on a G45 project.

Debbie, how are you feeling? Did you get something to help with the itching?

I am trying to get motivated to work in my scrap room today. So far no luck. I think it's because I need to clean and reorganize before I can start anything new. Plus, it still cold here today. I have a lot of things I really want to get done.

Erin, so nice of you to help your friend. I hope she feels better soon. Thanks for your inspiration. I spent this morning shopping on Amazon. I got an idea for your tea cup swap.

Kristine, I'm sorry you are going to need surgery. I hope it relieves your pain and you feel better.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Oh Kristine, I'm sorry to hear about surgery. Will that correct the problem completely? DH is getting after the floors right now, so I really don't want to do a pour with dust stirred up around the house. I may have to wait till Monday to do a pour. I bought two Stamperia molds; one with a set of huge steampunk wings, the other with some steampunk blubs and big gears. They are huge and very cool looking. I owe my youngest grandson an art piece, so I think I'll start on pieces for that. His birthday isn't until the first week in August, so I've got lots of time to work on it.

Kelly I've been cleaning, purging and doing some rearranging in my room this week and I'm feeling pretty good about things at the moment. I'm waiting on my equipment cart to arrive so I can get that squared away too. I should be able to start sewing on my lo's soon. I've got quite a few lo's already designed and in project envelopes. I'm going to try and work my way through those to finish them up over the next few weeks. Been trying to get motivated to do something crafty today, but I'm just not feeling it either.

Good afternoon! I was busy in my scrap room and then Fed Ex arrived with my Sam's Club shopping order. So then I was in the kitchen rearranging and cleaning to get everything put away. I need to vacuum, do some yoga, and then back to making flowers. I am making them bacause I don't have any I like for my project. And I have a lot of flowers, so you would think something would match. I hope I. An finish the heart box tomorrow but I am not holding my breath.

Kristine, if you are glad to have the surgery, so am I. I truly hope it makes your pain go away.

Kelly hope you find the goodies you want. I should go take a look on Amazon too!

Erin, you sure are super sweet. You are always helping someone!

Dawna, have fun on your craft and zoom!

Thanks, ladies. The surgery is a minimally invasive procedure, will only be about 90 minutes and I should be discharged same day. For those I know who have had it done, they say the difference is instant relief. Because the herniation is so large and months of PT did nothing, this was the best option for treatment. I'm all for it!

I'm working on a steampunk project right now, Dawna. Can't wait to see your resin pieces!
