MISTI stamping tool

I'm not much of a card maker. Sometimes I make cards, but not too often.

I'm kind of interested in the MISTI as a stamping tool for easier alignment of stamps. If you have a MISTI and have used it for projects other than cards, what sort of projects are those? I am currently viewing videos on YouTube, but I'd like to hear from folks here, also.

Hampton Art just came out with the Stamp Perfect.
It's pretty much the same as the Misti and half the price.

And it's even on sale right now !!

I have a MISTI and love it. The other one does not have the magnets to hold your paper in place and no cushiony pad. The other one will except ANY size paper tho, which will make it handy to stamp your own scrapbooking paper. But MISTI makes a big one too.....costly but I am seriously considering getting it.

I opted for Letterpress. Be very careful with the magnets, they can really hurt. I use Scotch brand removable tape to hold paper in place.

There are lots of stamp positioner options available now, including the Hampton Arts one and really versatile and inexpensive one from We Are Memory Keepers. It's on sale in the "All Stamping" sale right now too.

I have a MISTI, which I use for cardmaking, ATCs and Project Life stuff but I regret the money I spent on it. It's a good tool but a bit over-priced, imo.

I ended up getting the Hampton Arts Stamp Perfect product. With a 50% off coupon, it came out to $12.50. I'm okay with that price. I did a trial of making 5 tags exactly the same.

It's an okay product. One of the magnets was broken but .. eh. It did the job. It's certainly not good for pieces larger than 7"x5". I had wanted to try it out with a 6"x6" piece of paper, but Ihad to cut one side down by about an inch.

All in all, it's alright, and "worth" the $12.50. I think if I need something larger, I'll probably do some DIY thing. I found some instructional videos on Youtube for that.

Don't let it bamboozle you. It's OK to leave some paper hang out the edge, give it a try with some scratch paper. If you don't press down hard, the paper will be just fine. If there is some creasing get some sandpaper or a file and round the inside edge of the tool, it won't affect the operation of the tool.
People at my Mikes have no idea what it is.
Also, don't use the magnets, secure your work with artist tape or Post-it notes. You can use them over and over.

I have the Hampton Arts one and I have the Misti - the HA one is every bit as good as the Misti.

That one has 2 open edges, allowing for larger papers.
It doesn't have magnets tho, I've heard people have used washi tape to hold the paper in place.
I have it, but have yet to try it out.

Great reviews! I've been looking at this as sometimes I mass produce cards for various reasons. Hadn't thought about it for a scrapbook page but would love to start using them more... this might help for that.
I've used washi tape to hold papers down or together and it works like a charm.
