Loose glitter application

Hi everyone! I recently bought a huge jar of beautiful loose glitter. I have a chipboard border I'd like to cover in the glitter. I tried a spray adhesive and while some glitter stuck, most of it fell off. Any ideas on how to get a nice thick coat of loose glitter to stick to paper/chipboard? The glitter I bought isn't a fine glitter. Don't know if that makes a difference or not? Thanks for your help ladies!

It might not be the best way to do it but it has always worked for me, I just apply a thickish coat of glue that dries clear and coat it really well with glitter. I put a loose sheet of paper over the top and press down gently to get as much glitter to stick as possible then dump the rest back in the jar. Then usually leave it out to cure overnight. Sometimes pieces curl but once it is dry I just leave it under a heavy book for awhile and it straightens it back out.

I usually use a clear glue and just spread it on with an old paintbrush. Then, like MrsAnnie said, dump the glitter on, spread it out and press it down. Usually works well for me.

I saw a You-Tube video where they ran it through a xyron ("good side" down so you put the adhesive on the front), then added the glitter, covered with paper like Mrsannie said and pressed down lightly. Then they turned it over and lightly used a brayer over the back, then let it dry really good. I haven't tried it, but it worked good in the video

Don't use hot glue. Have you tried tacky glue? That holds everything. And you don"t need to worry if it dries clear, becasue it sounds like you want a lot of that stuff on. The glitter will cover all the glue.

I used the Xyron and I love it. Its cleaner with great coverage. My chipboard didn't curl, which I chalked up to it being a "dry" application, so I didn't use a brayer.

I found just tapping the back got off majority of the loose, but still have great coverage. I will have to try the paper method.

I use Xyron here as well. I have also used Scotch quick dry adhesive, applied with a paintbrush.
I usually pour some glitter into my glitter try and turn the object upside down into the glitter, pressing firmly.

I use Mod Podge mixed with slow dry medium. You have to let it dry overnight, but it will be stuck!

Depending on the particle size of the glitter I use different glue applications. If the particles are big I also do a wet glue and dry overnight. However if the particles are fine enough you can use red double sided sticky tape.

I think Martha Stewart sells glitter glue. Has anyone used this? I'm think about giving it a try.

I bought the glitter glue that has a brush, it reminded me of paste I used to have in Kindergarten. After a while it was clumpy and the brush .....it was just a mess.
I wouldn't recommend it for the long term. I am referencing the product below.

Mod Podge!! Then I put a coat over the glitter as well!! I find that there is no way to completely stick glitter some always rubs off so thats why I do a double coat its the only way that works for me!!

I use mod podge - it works great, they also sell a mod podge spray sealer - not sure if you using it on something that is being attached to the page but the sealer works great to keep the glitter from falling off, I just recently used it on some chipboard letters and it worked great. I have also used the xyron method which works great for fine glitter.

I use a product from Stampin up called Heat and Stick....you apply Versamark, then Heat and Stick, heat, add glitter and heat and it is set for good. Not very expensive either
