Printing White on Black CS

Hoe can I do this? Do I need to buy white ink... do they even make white ink? I tried printing white, and my printer just ran it through. I tried going off white, and my printer pretended to print, instead of just running it through, but nothing came out. I don't want to hand write all this out, there's a lot of journaling. TIA!

I've never tried this, but I read about it on a thread a while back. Apparantly you can only do the negative of the words so everything prints black EXCEPT for the text. Make sense?

i go to microsoft word and choose the color i want the font (choose white and put your black cardstock in and it should print out white

Wow that would be A LOT of ink! Worse comes to Worse, I'll try it. TY.

I have a few printers. None have white ink. I have read many times that the only way to print white is to print negative (white paper, everything but the text you want in white in another color.)

You can't print white, you have to print it like the others mentioned. You need to make your text box black, text white and print on white paper.

YOU CANNOT PRINT WHITE ONTO BLACK CARDSTOCK!!! Printers don't have white ink, they just leave blank spaces. All you can do is make your text box black and make the font white and print on white paper or cardstock. This means you'll have white letters on a printed black background.

Yea, I called Cartridge World. They said there are 2 companies that make white ink for printers but it's OMG expensive! He basically said it's worth more than its weight in gold. NEVERMIND THAT! I'll try the neg. printing idea. TYA!

Sounds like a cool idea, but too much work involved for me! I will just continue to use my white signo pen!

Everyone already answered the question.

I have done this before; works fine.

In Word, create a text box. Choose white for your font color and use a color as fill. I've done white letters on black, or blue.

Papersilly commented, "wow, a lot of ink." Not really, because the only area you are "filling" is the text box, not necessarily the entire page. Simply make the text box the size you want to use.

I've never had any luck printing white onto colored paper. I usually stick with my white marker/ink or just use stickers if its for a title or large journaling

I tried the "filling in" and print after print, it wasn't what I wanted. Oh Well. i went our today and bought a white ink pen. Guess I'll be handwriting it out! Thanks for all the help!

You can't print white ink unless you buy white ink and put it in. It's very expensive and totally not worth it

You just can't print white onto colored paper, there's no way you can make colored inks print white.

imo white text on black is hard to read, think those old computer screens with the green or whatever color text, and causes alot of eye strain. its cool for titles and little jaunts of text. but sounds like your trying to do this with alot of text, i would use vellum or rethink page.

I bought a white pen and did the jounaling by hand. It turned out nice. I tried to print out a black text box with white letters, and it looked bad. I was trying to do too much, like you said. Thanks!

It's almost impossible to print in white unless you do what to spend all that money... I absolutely can NEVER cut out the words I want in white perfectly... its just.. IMPOSSIBLE for my stupid hands, lol. What I do is print out the words the size that I want them in the size I want them, then cut them out to it makes a stencil, then I can stencil in the letters the way I want them... and if I didn't cut things quite right I can easily go over and smooth out lines... plus it helps me look as if I can draw really beautiful letters, even if I can't.

I have a wite gel pen that I use and it poofs up as it dries Works awesome!

I just did a layout and doodled on the black with the white pen...check it out. I just posted it yesterday or the day before.....

I agree, I did a LO where I printed white text into an espresso-brown text box and it is really hard to read... in fact, I might redo it at some point. Just something to consider.

I think this depends on what font you use. If the font it too fine, it is hard to read.
I've done some "reverse printing" and really like the results.
I recently made some small tags using white on black to match some Making Memory tags I bought. I think it looks pretty good.
