Making Memories Tag Maker

I see that the store sells a tag make tool kit (16.69) with metal rims but also sells a slice tagmaker (23.74)that I belive also show metal rims. Ebay also has a 3rd device called making memories tag maker (15.00). What is the difference between all theses tools?????? Do any of them cut the tag and "rim" it? Or do you need one tool for cutting and another for rimming? I'm confused Thanks for any input...I did watch the video but still wasn't that helpful!

the MM tagmaker presses the metal rim around the paper tag you have cut out.
Have no idea how the Slice one works.
The tag maker is one of those tools I own and never use.

To further confuse you.... Of course, the tag maker is not to be confused with Making Memories tag curler, which is an entirely different animal.

The MM tag maker is a tool that squishes the metal rim around your tag. The metal rims come with a stencil for hand cutting your tag.
MM also sells coordinating punches, so you don't have to trace and hand cut your shapes.

I just looked at the superstore. I think these are all the same tool, just packaged with different sets of rims (one comes with 12 rims, one comes with 60).

I think the difference between the "tool kit" and the "tag maker" is that the kit comes with the tool AND more rims, where the tag maker is simply the tool.

For what it's worth, many people say they have this tool and don't use it.

I have and I like it. I don't use it as much as I "could," but I do like it. I especially like making photos in to tags. In fact, my "SV650" layout in my gallery has one I made.

I have the MM tag maker and I use it alot for making my own embellishments for on cards. I made a template and cut the shapes using my craftrobo pro.

I use the tag rings, but do not have the tool. I just cut the tags with the template provided and fold the metal backing down with my bone folder, then I run it through my old red Sizzix, for good measure. The last part is for aesthetics, but not necessary.

Sure! If you have a manual embossing machine, it would work too.
