Laminating question?

Does anyone know if any of the laminating machines available allow you to laminate chipboard? I do not know alot about laminating to be honest. I have a project that I want to do and it will involve some small chipboard pieces. I want to make them last through quite a bit use. I was wondering if I could laminate them. I thought about mod podge too. Just thought I would ask. Thanks!

my zyronj900 will laminate chipboard. There are cartridges that will laminate both sides and ones that will laminate one side and put sticker stuff on the other side. If you only have a few to do it would be quite an expense to buy the cartridge though. Maybe you can have it done at a kinko type place.

I've run posterboard through the laminator at school many times. If your chipboard is one of the lighter weight ones, it should work just fine. Try Kinkos or a teacher supply store. Our local teacher store laminates for $1/foot.

The school type laminators use heat to fuse together the two pieces of plastic. You just cut it apart and it will laminate pretty thick stuff, like poster board and even thicker.

Xyron has two pieces of plastic with adhesive on them that stick toegtehr to "laminate". The disadvantage is that your scissors get all sticky from the adhesive when cutting the item out.

You can also try cler ContacPaper from Walmart. It is cheaper than all of the above and will do any thickness you want.

Xyonr also sells laminating sheets that you just stick toegtehr on your own--they are a little bigger than 8.5x11 and Ms and Js both have them.
