Newbie wondering how to make my own 3-D stickers

    Hi everyone,
My name is Nicole. I have really only been seriously scrabooking for about the past 5 months, if I remember correctly. I just signed up here.

I was wondering if any of you make your own 3-D stickers that look like Jolees. Is it more expensive and tedious to make your own or should I just continue with my 3-D sticker obsession? Any advice on how to make them and the cost and so forth would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much!

I think that it's cheaper, but only because Jolee's doesn't have what I want half the time. I just pull stuff out of my stash to use. The time part doesn't bother me so much, because then I get exactly what I want.

TO make them, I use punches, stamped images (there's a tutorial out there...PM me if you want the link), kids' coloring books, and all kinds of other things. The only limit is your imagination. Then put pop dots on the back, and voila, you have a 3D sticker.

I always make my own, mostly because I think it's fun A lot of the time, I just free hand a design and cut it out or I will design something to cut out on my silhouette. Add some Stickles and pop dots, and you've got a 3D embellie! Of course you can add much more, it just depends on what sort of item you want.

Thanks for the replies, ladies. Since I am a bit dense at times, could you please educate me on stickles? Are they like Glue Dots ? Do you two sew your stickers too? Do any of your pages have your homemade stickers that I could look at for inspiration? Thank you very much!

Stickles are a line of AMAZING glitter glues! They are great to use on small details and come in a wonderful variety of colors. You'll find many fans of them here at sb.com along with tons of stickles threads
I have sewn on embellishments before along with embossing, stamping, gems, you name it! The sky is the limit.

Also, don't forget that you can cut things out of patterned paper and make them into stickers. I love to do this because you have the design already there. You can decorate pieces cut out of paper up with pop dots and glitter/Stickles, gems, etc and come up with beautiful creations.

Here are a few things I've made, but you can go to about 75% of the LOs and cards in my gallery and find hand made embellishments:
On this card, the flowers are stamped onto paper and cut them out. Then I flocked the centers and attached them with pop dots.

On this LO, I cut the poinsettia from red cardstock, inked the edges and added STickles. I just layered it with pop dots.

Here is a batch of layered flowers I made. Just use flowers cut out at different sizes. You can fold them, and decorate them up!

i love me some stickles!! Seriously, they're really great, and you can use a little for a touch of glitter, or a lot for BLING! I can't afford to get many of them right now, but I'm slowly collecting them as I go. I think out of the past 50 LOs I've done, I've used it on 25!
as for the OP, I've just started making my own embellishments, but you'll do just fine. Think of it like making paper dolls, or putting together a puzzle.
