Wedding Album vs. Wedding Pages in my Album

Okay..I'm trying to decide if I should make a whole new scrapbook just for my wedding photos, or if I should just add a few pages to my general scrapbook.

If you're married, what did you do? Anyone have reasons that one way is better than the other? I just need to think of the pros and cons...with your help, of course.

I made a separate album...actually 2 separate albums. I included pics of the shower, rehearsal, getting ready, and ceremony in one. The other one has the receptions (we had two in different parts of the country) and our honeymoon. I did separate ones because I had so many pictures I wanted to use (I didn't even scrap the professional ones!). I personally like them in their own albums because it's such a special event. If you don't have a lot of pictures you want to scrap, you could still put them in a separate album...just a smaller one perhaps. JMO.

I did both! (Well I'm going to do both ) In my regular "family" scrapbooks, I didn't want to go from dating, engagement, to being married without having the wedding in there. So I put in the bridal shower, rehearsal, and a 2 pg LO for the wedding/reception, and a 2 pg LO for the honeymoon. When I get around to it, DH bought me a beautiful K&Co album that matches our wedding theme. Someday.... when I'm all caught up with the kids..... I'll put the full wedding in there. I haven't decided whether or not I'll repeat the bridal shower and rehearsal pages. Any thoughts on that that could help me decide??

I love finding out that other people deliberate over this stuff the way I do!

When I finally get to scrapping our wedding, I believe I'll have a separate album, because we have so many pictures I want to use - the wedding, the honeymoon, etc. I think I'll also have a little "planning" section at the end, that includes pics of dresses I thought I wanted initially, fitting pics, bridal exasperation emails over what have you, maybe collages from the cards we got from people, etc.

I already have a small Lenox photo album full of 80 pictures from the wedding, the album was a gift so I couldn't help but fill it up with the highlights from the wedding and reception. I consider that the "travel" wedding album, easier to share with people if they don't want the whole SB experience; I'll probably put all of those pics in the wedding SB when I get to it, though many will be cropped. It intially seemed redundant, but it's imperative to include those in the SB to in order to tell our story.

But I think if you only want to do a few from your wedding, you can incorporate it into your general album, I just wanted to include everything (which may be an insane choice on my part!)

yankeewifey, to answer your question, maybe when you get to your wedding album you can do 1-2 pages on the bridal shower and rehearsal dinner, just to touch on those events. Similarly, I already have a photo album on our engagement party that I put together before I started SBing. But I have some engagement party memorabilia I'd like to scrap, so when I do that, I'll put a few favorite pictures from the engagement party in my SB to summarize the event (but not all of them. Since they're already in an album, I get tired just thinking about scrapping all of them!).

I did an album with dating/engagement, then a wedding album (with rehersal, getting ready, honeymoon, etc), and then the next "family album" started with us being newlyweds.

I'm working on a seperate album also.

I will have a separate album for my bridal shower, one for my rehearsal dinner and dress buying etc. and one for the wedding and one for the honeymoon. I have so many pictures they need their own books. I also have all of my proofs from the professional pictures in their own albums (4). And I haven't gotten my professional final album yet. Still can't decide on which pictures. Oh and I will be married for 2 years in Sept. I know I know.

Thanks for the ideas, blushpea. (Sorry to have slightly hijacked this thread, too!) I'm still not sold on putting any engagement, shower, rehearsal stuff in because I'm an OCD, anal, got-to-be-in-chronological-order scrapbker. So I'd hate to do a gorgeous, CK-publishing worthy (well, maybe ) title page and then have the next spread be a cheesy engagment/shwr/rehsl LO. But it would feel out of place if I put it at the end of the book so.... I'm still not sure! I have lots of receipts and brochures from all the planning too which I'd like to at least journal abt. (We were engaged for 11 months so I spent a lot of time planning. ) I scrap w/ top-loading bks so maybe I'll just do the wedding stuff and see if I need to add the extras later.

Here's my edit: I think pics in both places would be best ('cause that's what I did LOL) but I think a separate wedding album is better than just a few pages total.

I like the idea of a separate album myself. I think it is such a special event that it needs to be all by it's self....JMO!

I'm in the process of doing all my pictures. I have a separate honeymoon album. Then I didn't want to cut or glue any of my professional pictures - so they're in an 8x8 album by themselves (I got 5x7 pictures). I bought a couple of those photo frame punches that punch slots in the corners that I can slip the picture into. Works great. Then, I'm having a third album of all my planning/snapshots/anything the photographer didn't get. I love the K&Co. album that is yellow with daisies on it. I made a 6x6 version of it for dh's grandmother for Christmas. I want the 12x12 for me - just waiting on a nice coupon so I don't have to pay $30 for it.

I just started working on my wedding album - it will be separate (it's only 1 of 2 at the moment lol) Depending on how many pages I end up preparing, I may add our honeymoon to it also. (We're going to Italy in October )
