Pricing scrapbook items for a garage sale

I am having a garage sale soon and am really struggling with how to price my scrappy and other crafty items. Many of them are brand name NIP (items I won or was given that just aren't my taste). To give you an idea: tons of Stampin' Up stamps; BasicGrey chipboard; many packages of DCWV Adhesive Ribbon; Queen & Co Felt Fusion; and about a zillion other things. Oh, and I'll have tons of pp, including name brands and misc. older, unidentified stuff.

I'd love some advice. Thank you!!

Hey Cindy - I've done a few scrapbook garage sales and it really just depends on your motive LOL!

If you want the items to be GONE at the end of the day, price them fairly aggressively (30% of the original price is a good starting point). You'll sell more items and in turn make more CASH, than if you'd priced at 50% of the regular price or higher....

But if you're uncomfortable with such low prices, start at least at 1/2 price and if you are nearing the end of your sale - let people know you'll take 1/2 off the earlier prices you were asking. This is just a bit riskier because you might get stuck with more merchandise...

I recommend bundling patterned papers... about 20-25 sheets per bundle (totally random - don't spend too much time on this :)) Then you can sell them at a higher price, not risk so much damage to individual sheets, and people are likely to spend less time browsing and more time buying! If its a good price, they won't care what styles they get as much as they'll care about the bargain.

If you have smaller items like individual sticker sheets, random embellies, etc. you can give away 2-3 free items with every purchase at the sale, making the customers feel special. FREE is always fantastic!

Wow! I wish I lived closer to you! I need stuff and don't have much $ to spend. I love to find G-sales with craft stuff. It really depends what you want to make on the stuff. I was to a sale that had stampin up sets for $4 and $5 depending on the set size. She also had individual stamps for 50 cents to $3, again depending on size, groups of papers for $1 to $3 depending on size, punches for $1 to $4 . Then she had boxes with various stuff in them at various prices individual( sheets of stickers, ribbons, buttons, brads...)
hey do you have any stamps with a realistic looking bird or birds? I would pay cash if it's in my budget and could just mail payment to you, I'm in WA.

I totally agree with this. I do scrappy sales twice a year, and have tons of repeat customers. Lest fall I made $350 on 3 boxes of stuff, and I priced just like Kels suggested. I did sell older paper by the sheet, 20 for $1 and it sold well that way. If you do this annually, word will spread and you will get more traffic at each consecutive sale.

Just checked... the only birds I have are penguins and they are cutesy, not realistic.
