Why heat laminate?

My MIL got me a heat laminator for Christmas a few years ago. It's still in the box because I'm not sure why I would heat laminate something for scrapbooking.

Why/what would I laminate for scrapbooking?

What else might I do with a heat laminator?

Not sure about scrapbooking, but you can make and laminate your own luggage tags:) I was a teacher and I used it all the time for posters, bulletin board things, any thing out of constuction paper I was going to use again. Sorry, I'm not much help.

A heat laminator would protect the pages. Just like any laminating would do. I saw a cute idea in a mag where they did little mini albums for kids at a bday party. The kids all made albums there, then they used a photo printer to use photos from the party, and last they laminated them to send the kids off with because kids tend to destroy stuff.

I would say it would be great for projects that are more kid friendly. You can make mini albums for kids in the family to be able to tote around. It can also be used for other mini albums or tags that can be bound with just a ring instead of having page protectors or mod podging the heck out of them.

Last...laminate important cards and stuff for your wallet.

Oh another cute idea I saw was to make cute decorated recipe cards and of course laminating protects them while you have them out to cook with. I am going to make my sil some recipe cards with family recipes (she married my bro and he tends to be like...ooh...mom makes this for this holiday...and such. Thought it would be nice for her to have copies if she wants to make it). However my personal recipes tend to get destroyed cause I inevitably spill something on them. So laminating would be nice!

I've seen it used to make a clear album. You put the pps inside the pouches and laminate them, then add the embellies and journalling on top. They looked great and I'm planning on trying it out soon.

It's great for perserving those cheap programs of events that your children are involved in. You could actually laminate the program and insert it in the scrapbook between a two page lo.

You can also use it to laminate the card that comes in clear stamp packages that shows the designs or the company name. Then put the stamps on there with the corresponding design and use it for storing them instead of individual packages and then you will always know which stamps are which. You can put the cards in a photo box kind of like a file system or you can also punch holes in them and put them in a binder or hang them on a Clip It Up .
